We hope everyone had a fun and safe Trick or Treating!!!!

But Halloween isn’t over just yet.
For everyone who wants to wear that amazing costume just one more time… everyone wearing their costume this weekend gets DOUBLE TURTLE AND TORTOISE FEEDINGS!!!

Plus we are gonna bring back everyone’s favorite…. ALLIGATOR FEEDINGS SUNDAY AT 2PM!!!!

GIGANTIC NEWS!!!
You’ve been asking when it was going to happen!
You’ve been telling us how bad your students miss it!
We’ve tried our best to live without it!
But we missed it just too much….
WE ARE TRAVELING OUT TO SCHOOLS AGAIN!!!!!
This is something that helped build the zoo into what it is today. And with our new seasonal schedule we are finally able to come see you guys again.
So whether it’s a classroom, assembly, field trip, carnival, or whatever fun activity you have going on. We want to be there.

Don’t forget we do still offer field trips to our location as well!

It’s Official…. WE’RE OPEN!!!!

At our new location in Garden City!!!

With our new location we are trying something new with our hours…
For the winter and colder months, we will be here 10a-6p Friday, Saturday, and Sunday!! We’ll keep you posted as those change.

Most importantly… for everyone asking… WE’RE OPEN!!! So we hope to see everyone soon!

Just a fun little video we put together moving all of our Sulcata Tortoises.
Some of the larger ones like Tort, we had to use some outside of the box thinking to get him outside. Because when we picked him up he would pinch our fingers with his back legs. 🤣
But look at new setup!!! It makes it all worth it!
Plus you are still able to go in with them and hang out with them!

We will be open ONE MORE DAY at our current location.
While most of our animals are moving into our new location.
We still have everyone’s favorites… our big gators, turtle pond, and Tortoises!!!
I mean what kind of SHELLabration wouldn’t have turtles and tortoises?
We hope to see everyone out for one more fun filled day with us on Overland.
And since we only have a fraction of the animals to see… it’s only a fraction of the normal price.
$5 A PERSON!!!!
Oh and we will be sure to post our new location and opening date after Saturday to avoid any confusion.

Hey guys, we are looking to give these two an amazing upgrade at our new facility.
However… this is something we have never done before. We are wanting to give these two a GIGANTIC CONCRETE POND!!!
With the sheer size of Gomer, the pond liner just isn’t cutting it anymore.
While we have done some crazy things and figured out how to get so much done as a team, this one might be more than we can handle on our own. At least in the timetable we are working with.
So we are looking for some guidance or even a company willing to take on the project to get this done for these two. If you’re that person, or know of anyone who would be willing to help we’d love to hear from you.

It’s been a busy week here!!! It’s just the first week and we’ve gotten so much done already!
We have just about all of our glass enclosures moved over. We’ll share their set up next week.
And we got started on setting up the new gigantic enclosures at our new location.
We are SO EXCITED for this amazing opportunity, and can’t wait to share the whole journey with you guys. So stick around for more updates!!!

Just a reminder, we are still open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday normal hours. We hope to see everyone there. And you can see the progress for yourself.

WE DID IT!!!!

We found our new home!!! We have a signed lease!!! We have a date set!!! All we need now is city permits and we are all set!!!!
We are moving to Garden City on Chinden between Orchard and Curtis!!!

Since we are waiting on city stuff we are able to start moving in small amounts at a time. So if you come to the zoo and notice something is missing, it is most likely moved over.

But on that note of moving and visiting the zoo. We are going to adjust to a moving/ winter hours where we are going to be closed Monday through Thursday and open Friday,Saturday, and Sunday like normal.

This will help give us time to build, pack, move, and everything in between without disrupting your visit.

We want to thank everyone for all of your patience, support, and understanding during this crazy time for us. But thanks to you we are able to move on to a new chapter in the Idaho Reptile Zoo history.

We will keep you posted as more details are available.

Alright, it's time to get back to the good news updates!!! Let's get back to what this is all about... we'll keep you posted on other stuff as it develops, but we know you're really here for these amazing animals.
And what better news to get us back on track with then Douglas MAKING HER NEST!!!!
A few weeks ago, we noticed Douglas and Gomer were acting pretty lovey. So we added some grass clippings to their enclosure, just in case.
And it turns out we were right.
Douglas, all on her own, has piled up all of this dirt, mud, and grass and even tried some pond liner 🤦‍♂️under her heat lamp to make sure her eggs would be nice and warm.
We are expecting her to deposit her eggs ANY DAY!!!
But we'll keep you posted in case any one would want to come be a part of the fun!

Hey guys... this is a really upsetting post, so I apologize now.

But the Idaho Reptile Zoo will be closing its current location in the very near future.

Our current landlord has deemed us unable to operate in our current facility due to us (after 5 years) not being a good use for the building.
There's more to it, but that's their main idea.

So without getting into all of the nitty gritty of it... we will have a probably very long road end of us sticking up for ourselves.

But while all of that is going on, our number concern is the safety of our animals.

So you will be seeing us pop up at some new locations spreading out and doing what we can.

We have a couple of different possibilities for our future. So don't worry too much about us... we're NOT LEAVING FOR GOOD.

And before anyone asks how to help because I know you guys, and that's why we love our community.
All we need is for you guys to be patient with us, and if you have or know of anyone with land, they are selling to send them our way.

Again... I want to make this VERY CLEAR... WE ARE NOT CLOSING FOR GOOD.

We just wanted to give everyone a heads up in case there were notices on our doors or anything like that.

Thank you so much for everything.
And until we know for sure when everything is going to happen, the zoo will operate like normal. So we hope to see everyone soon!

Yesterday was the first day of our Summer Madness Shows!!!!
And I gotta say it was a total success!!!
But I think there's still some room in the seats, so let's see if we can go even bigger!
