Frankie Update- Our sweet little Frankie had surgery this morning and is recovering at the vet hospital today. We will be waiting to hear the next steps once we know the results of his histopath. Please continue to keep him in your prayers.

From the veterinarian that performed his surgery:
28.5 pounds of firm packed rumen ingesta removed. Very little fluid at all. He has very minimal internal fat and it looks like he’s broken down the fat stores he had. Ruminal papilla (nutrient absorption projections inside the rumen)are small and we are sending to histopath. He may not have developed his rumen appropriately to break down food.

No foreign body or obstruction, intestine looked healthy, abdominal fluid normal. Working with LSU surgeon for post op feeding. He got 1/2gal of tuffy rumen fluid during surgery.
