I put in work

It's not my usual catch with this site holding a large number of rattus rattus or roof rat.

The level of rodents was inspired by the clutter and the food available, not the poultry or livestock.

In this instance, the seeds of conifer cones fueled the number of rats we saw and dispatched.

The last OG

My old lady Lil Ms Squeakers , helped me catch a few rats this past week.

She is my oldest and longest surviving working dog at 13 plus

She doesn't have many teeth or many years left.

Fully retired to enjoy a easy farm life Squeakers doesn't even wear a bell anymore

I estimate she has probably killed 10k rats in her lifetime and had been a mainstay of my work in the last 10 years

These days I mostly work mutts and patterdales but the rat terriers still hold a special place for me.

Exploring a new spot.

Nothing like taking a dog outing to a new honey hole.

I've been trying to get into one of these facilities for almost 10 years and this was my second visit.

New location hold not only a lot of fun but also new dangers.

You can not work dogs at this level without inherent danger.

Even though we are still exploring the site and the work needed to flush rats for dispatch, we still consider the outing to be highly successful.

Despite age, responsibilities, and other life interests besides just working and sporting terriers. We are still out there smashing rats with friends.

Emily has become a solid part of every major hunt we have been on in the past 2 years and her dogs are a joy to behold working. It's great to watch her bring a a young dog into work.

Interesting to see some piebald or unusual colors in this batch when we stacked them up
They were all of phenomenal size and weight.

Hopefully our hosts saw the value of good dogs and traditional methods rat catching

A good clean day 🤣🤣

You don't want to know what these rats smelled like coming out of the wet lower levels of a industrial facility.

100 counted with most of exceptional size.

Always enjoyable to work and test some new terriers and see them light up

Always sad to see super stars deal with the affect of age.

I don't know how much longer Quinn the GS will be with is but he got a few.
