I can almost tell you if a dog has ever been crated when they come see us on the farm. Dogs who have used a crate or have learned to be alone even for short periods of time are less anxious when they are here and away from the comfort of their home.
The idea that they need to be with someone 24/7 to make them feel loved seems to backfire when they need to be left alone. You never know when emergencies arise or you just need to be away from home.
We have traditionally crated or at least contained our babies in a bathroom or foyer at night for their safety. They learn to be alone and be ok without people.

One of the biggest things that sets puppies up for success?
Structure and routine 🤍

Crate training plays a huge role in that. It teaches independence, builds confidence, and gives your puppy a safe space to decompress.

When used correctly, the crate is never a punishment it’s a tool for raising a calm, well-adjusted dog.

Watson says “I’m over this doodle poodle group thing. I’m hanging out down here”.
He still enjoys watching them though.
