Got this beautiful picture the other day of Crowley. You can see her beautiful eyes. Oh yeah, that’s right Crowley is big/old enough now that unless they are a late bloomer looks to be a female. A little disappointing as I was hoping she would be a he but since we’re are just in the building phase of this project it’s not a big deal in the least.

I had set up a bioactive enclosure for my sister over the winter and she’s been growing her plants but it had no resident. My little nephew found this invasive Chinese Praying Mantis in the yard and they decided to keep her as a pet in there for now💚💚💚

I NEVER encourage taking animals from the wild and trying to keep them in captivity, this is an invasive species however. They grow over twice the size of the native Carolina Mantis and threaten their food source. It is recommended you freeze them and feed them to local birds in winter. She lucked out and gets to be fed crickets by a group of happy kids. She was still a half grown nymph and has now reached full size and is just beautiful.

This is a 3D printed reptile hide painted with a textured stone spray paint and sealed with polyacrylic. This is for Reptar, our other leopard gecko. Bet she is going to love it 🖤🖤🖤

Did you know we 3D print too? Pretty rad, I’ve done a few different hides and a ledge for our arboreal geckos. A sweet conversion kit for terrestrial to arboreal is in the works too but for now some cool hides will tide me over.

Bioactive Enclosures

Bioactive enclosures are a great option for a beautiful custom setup to display both your love of plants and your reptile. They are a lot of fun to build as well. Check out this one that just got planted. The possibilities are endless, and this kind of enclosure can be done for any species. I keep my Gargoyle geckos in bioactive set up here.

Everyone knows that chameleons change their color but did you know Gargoyle Geckos do too?

Here is Crowley “fired up” and “fired down”. These were taken on the same day about an hour apart. I can’t wait to see how his color developes as he grows.
