This weekend we said goodbye to our friend Frank, the little Doxie mix who has been a fixture at Steve Spaulding’s house for the last 2 years. Frank had been found in a ditch, presumably disposed of in hopes that’s he drown. Luckily someone found him and got him out. Steve took him on as a hospice foster, meaning that he wasn’t one that would be easy to be placed somewhere. Well that was Frank’s lucky day because he spent the last 2 years of his life living like a king. He fit right in with all the resident doxies and the Whippets who visited and were there for some long stays while we were on vacay.
In the last couple months Frank declined. He had to be in his teens. He had the usual cateracts and other stuff that comes with old age, but he got around pretty damn good.
I am very lucky that Huxley, Rum and I got to spend the weekend with him. Frank got steak and a couple burgers. Lots of pets and attention from all.
He crossed the 🌈 bridge around 4:00pm today. He is whole again, he can see and he can run pain free. My mom I’m sure was one of the first to greet him, she loved the Weens as much as the Whippets.
Run free Frank, we will see you on the other side 🌈❤️⭐️
