Well, it’s going to be cold tonight. They are calling for 23 here and we usually get colder than what they are calling for. Below i shared a photo of the kill temps and at what stages. I’d say our peach crop is mostly in the pink stage although some varieties are in first bloom. Important to remember not every fruit bud on a tree is in the exact same stage. ( this often saves us) Apples are pretty uniformly in the tight cluster stage. With temps getting this low there isn’t much we can do. Just pray and hope for the best. 🙏 🙏

I also shared a photo from a few years ago showing a dead bud vs an alive one. The red arrow is pointing to the dead bud where you can see the pistol on the inside is black. The blue arrow points to a healthy bud where’s its green and vibrant on the inside. The stage of the buds in those pictures is red calyx/ first pink we are further along in the orchard this year. (Not ideal)
