🐾Labor of love🐾
This is a perfect example for those that want to breed their dog for fun or just because their dog “has such an awesome personality “. Breeding is absolutely not as simple as letting your dog breed with another dog, puppies pop out 63 days later, and then puppies go home at 8 weeks! How would these backyard breeders handle bottle feeding 11 puppies every 2-3 hours around the clock for at least two weeks and tube feeding those that won’t take the bottle, then stimulating the puppies to use the bathroom after every feeding and having to possibly give enemas to 11 puppies who are constipated from the formula.

Breeding puppies is most certainly a labor of love 24/7 for 8 weeks....not for the lighthearted!

In this moment I’m grateful for my mentors…

I’m grateful they guided me towards valuing crate training; it allows Soph to totally relax in her crate at the vets; making it easier and less stressful for herself, other animals and the staff.

We are so blessed to have amazing veterinary care, Soph bursts into the clinic wagging and announces their MVP is here!!! 😂 This dog is pure sunshine with a generous helping of clowning 🤣. Our veterinary staff understand how to create an environment that is less stressful, their animal handling skills are incredible. Of course the work we do at home contributes heavily too, however there is no substituting trauma free veterinary care.

Everyone got to enjoy a cold carrot to help with the puppy teeth coming in. They aren’t interested in eating it but it’s keeping them busy. Mom and dad chose to eat theirs on the couch while Tiger took his under the table and hid with it.
