Friday 3/20 afternoon update on club status:

The Obedience side will remain closed over the weekend- no classes and no key holders please. There is equipment running in there to dry out the cleaned/sanitized areas impacted by the plumbing issue earlier this week.

The Agility side is open to key holders and the drop in class on Sunday (4:30p) is still open.

The cleaners will be back Monday morning to remove the equipment from the obedience side. There will be some matting removed and concrete visible, so will need to use caution until we are able to replace the mats.

All classes at BOTC are cancelled for Thursday, March 19th. There are plumbing issues that have not been resolved and bathroom facilities are unavailable at this time.

Upcoming class-

Preparing for an Obedience or Rally Trial - are you ready?

1-3 pm, Mar 15, 2026 at BOTC

This class is designed for new handlers planning to enter an obedience or rally trial. It provides the information you need to understand, what to expect and how to prepare.

Topics include:

Choosing the correct class and completing entry forms

Registering your dog with the appropriate organization

Finding upcoming trials

Understanding the judging program

Planning your arrival time

Crating considerations

Effective warm-up routines

Ring entrances and procedures

Ring etiquette and what to expect outside the ring

Dogs are welcome to attend; however, they must remain crated when not working.

Bloomington Obedience Training Club is offering a new class!

Beginner Novice/Novice Obedience Prep Class

Interested in stepping into the obedience ring? Whether you’re planning to compete or simply curious about what showing is all about, this class is the perfect place to start.
Designed for teams preparing for Beginner Novice or Novice obedience, this class covers all exercises required for these titles. We’ll focus on skill development, ring readiness, proper handling techniques, and building confidence for both dog and handler.
You’ll practice individual exercises as well as full run-throughs, helping you understand ring procedures and expectations while strengthening teamwork and precision.
Whether your goal is earning a title or exploring the world of obedience competition, this class will set you up for success in the ring.

Starting Thursday March 19th 1:30-2:30, 6 week class
