🎃🐾 No tricks, just Halloween safety treats! 🍬👻
Halloween is full of fun and sweet treats, but for our furry friends, it can bring a few tricky dangers! Here are some tips to help keep your pets safe and sound this spooky season:
🍫 Keep candy out of reach:
Many Halloween goodies contain ingredients that are toxic to pets — especially chocolate, raisins, and xylitol (found in sugar-free candy). Even small amounts can make your pet sick. (If you think your pet has ingested something they shouldn't have, call the Pet Poison Helpline at 855-764-7661 - fees apply.)
🚪 Beware of open doors:
With trick-or-treaters coming and going, pets can easily slip out unnoticed. Make sure your pets are secured in a safe space, or double-check that their ID tags and microchips are up to date.
🍬 Double-check the floor:
Dropped candy or stray wrappers can be tempting (and dangerous) snacks for curious pets. Keep an eye out during and after the festivities.
✨ Watch out for glow sticks and glow jewelry:
They may look fun and harmless, but if chewed or punctured, the liquid inside can cause irritation and drooling.
🕯️ Be careful with candles:
Curious noses and wagging tails can get too close or knock them over. Try battery-powered flames instead!
Here's to a spooooky not SCARY Halloween! 🧡
