WOOD TICKS - Did you know there are 9 different types of wood ticks found with the United States?! Just thinking about Wood Ticks gives me the wi***es! YUCK!
Spring is the beginning of the Wood Tick season throughout the United States. Besides being creepy, wood ticks spread a number of serious diseases to both pets and humans! The diseases are So serious, it is important to get the word out!! – whenever you or your pet has been outside, you need to check them for Ticks! Be aware, ticks will hitch a ride on any warm moving surface, so your fur baby can bring the Ticks in the house with them. Ticks are tiny, so take your time. Adult ticks are not fussy from whom they get their blood meal, so check everyone you share your home with!

Avoid a tick bite by:
• 1) In the spring, through the first frost, vigilantly check yourself, kids, and pets for ticks every time they come indoors.
• 2) Remove tick/kill immediately
• 3) Watch for any redness or signs of infection near the bite
• 4) If you see any sign of a reaction in the bite area – see your medical or veterinary doctor – PLEASE do not wait! These diseases can be serious! Sooner treatment begins, the more likely serious prolonged illness will be minimized.
Prevention is key. Google “Wood Tick” and there is a wealth of creditable information. Advice what to wear when out hiking, how to minimize ticks in your yard, what bug repellents to use and avoid. Even organic methods to repel ticks.
