Camp committee members and some of our staff will be on hand to answer any questions you may have. Check out our facilities and beautiful lake - it the perfect opportunity to come learn about our camp. Registration opens in mid March - we invite you to come learn all about us!

We’re from Glenwild can’t be any prouder if you can’t hear us we’ll shout a little louder. T-1 day!!!! Here are our 2024 teen coaches:

Hello, my name is Cole Hudson and I am returning to my second year of working in the teen program at Glen Wild Lake. I was a camper at Glen Wild Lake Camp for 7 years and currently live on the lake. I am 3 semesters away from gaining my bachelors degree in Environmental Sustainability at William Paterson University pursuing a career in Water and Sewer Management. Some things I enjoy in the summer is being outdoors, playing sports, and running the teen program making it the most enjoyable experience for the campers.

Hey guys,

Coach Luke here and I'm back for my fifth consecutive summer as a Glen Wild Coach. I try to bring an adventurous, inclusive, and nurturing spirit to the camp, as that's what impacted me the most in my years as a camper at Glen Wild. I live on the lake most of the year and also part time in Los Angeles, CA.

Every summer has been filled with magic and I can’t wait to see what's in store for this one. Can't wait to see you all!

We can’t wait to see you in just 2 days!! Here’s our 2024 land coaches:

Hi, my name is Karina Thompkins, I am 16 years old and will be working as a land coach this summer. This will be my second year coaching, but I have been a camper at Glen Wild Lake since I was nine years old. A little bit more about my life outside of camp, I am a rising senior attending the Morris County Vocational School of Technology. I am excited to come back this year and am looking forward to this summer.

Hi everyone! I’m Sasha and I am very excited to be returning to GWL camp this summer for my third year coaching tennis. I will be attending Northeastern University in the fall as a Health Science and Psychology major. I have played on my school’s varsity tennis team since my freshman year and had the honor of being team captain this past season. I started going to GWL camp when I was just a tiny tot, which is where I was first exposed to tennis. Can’t wait to see everyone on the courts this Summer!

Hi! My name is Colleen and this is my first year working as a counselor for GWL camp! In past summers I have been a CIT, lifeguard, and a camper. I just graduated from Morristown-Beard School and will be attending Fairfield University in the fall for Nursing! I can’t wait to see everybody and even some new faces:)

Hi my name is Bella Hudson and this will be my third year working at the camp! I am graduating from
Morris County Tech and will be attending Ramapo College this fall where I will be playing soccer and majoring in Elementary Education. I have been a part of the GWL camp for a long time and I can’t wait to have another amazing summer this year, can’t wait to see you all!!

Another day, another amazing staff introduction… T-3 days!! Here’s our 2024 tiny tot coaches:

Hi. My name is Katarzyna Wizner, known as Coach Kat. This is going to be my third year being the tiny tots coach at Glen Wild Lake. My kids and I are so excited for swim season to begin. Swimming is great exercise for the whole body and teaches discipline and consistency. I love to see kids learning new skills, making long lasting friendships. I can’t wait to help you make beautiful summer memories . We will have a summer full of fun activities. See you soon 🙂

Abby is super excited to be one of the coaches this summer! She has worked as one of the camp’s lifeguard for the past 2 years and was a camper for the 10 years. She is looking forward to spending time with the tiny tots this summer and watching the kids swim at swim meets. Abby is attending Lafayette college in the fall to study biology but before that, she can’t wait for the summer at GWL camp!

T-4 days!! Here’s our 2024 swim team coaches:

Hello! My name is Jackson Ellis and I’m going to be one of the swim coaches and the boating coach this year at GWL.
I’ve been coming to GWL swim camp for about 15 years and living at the lake for 18.
I recently graduated Butler high school and will be attending Centenary University this fall for a degree in Equine studies and a minor in personal relations. This is my first year as a coach and I’m beyond excited to share the summer with all of you. See you all at the lake🥳

Hey everyone, I’m Jerry Szmagalski and I’ll be a Swim Coach for this upcoming summer. This will be my third summer working at GWL and I’ve previously been an Assistant Swim Coach and Land Coach. In addition, this past spring I earned my WSI certification (Water Safety Instructor) from the Kaplan JCC on the Palisades. Outside of coaching I enjoy working out, attending sporting events and concerts, and fishing. Lastly, I’ll be attending Sacred Heart University this fall where I’ll be studying Exercise Science in the 3+3 DPT program. I can’t wait to get camp going and I’m looking forward to having a good summer.

Hi, I’m Kyle Barsch and this will be my first year working at camp! I was a CIT for the past two years and apart of the camp and swim team for longer! I can’t wait to have an amazing summer this year and make new friends!!

Camp is T-5 days away. Get excited!! We are excited to announce our Co-directors for the 2024 camp season.. Coach Erin and Coach Hannah are back!

Hi Glenwild! This will be my 4th year here at GWL and I’m beaming with excitement to be your codirector with Coach Hannah. I am a nursing student graduating this fall with my RN, and was the medical/first aid director at Glenwild last summer. GWL holds a special place in my heart, and I can’t wait to make everlasting memories with you all this year. Here’s to a super fun and safe summer 2024!

Hi my name is Hannah. GWL Swim Camp has been my summer home since the age of 7. When I got “too old” to attend camp, I needed to find another way to stay, so I have been working here ever since the age of 15. I have held many different roles at camp but am excited to say this summer I will be back as Co-director with Coach Erin and helping with teen nights. During the school year I am currently teaching 7th and 9th grade math and also am an adjunct math professor at Bergen Community College. I plan on finishing my masters in Mathematics with a concentration in Education in the Spring of 2025. I can’t wait to help create memories with the campers this summer. See you all soon!!

They will be adding the swim camps with personalized names on them. Please note that we need to have at least 25 personalized caps ordered to get them done, and the personalized caps will need to be in by May 31st for them to be ready in time for Camp.

Registration for GWL Swim Camp 2024 is now open! You can register at:

Returning families, please note that there are a couple of changes for this year.

First, Teen Night has been moved to be an “Add On” to your camper’s registration, rather than a separate registration session.
Selecting this will enroll your 13 years old or older camper for 10 Teen Nights. (Please note that trips offsite like bowling or laser tag may have an additional cost associated with them).

Secondly, as there was enough interest in our survey, we are adding one hour before care (9-10am) as a limited number, first come first serve option. So when you have the list of week(s) your camper will be attending camp, you can also select before care for that week.

Note that the “Protection Plan” is something added by CampDoc, we recommend you select that you decline the protection plan.

What is Camp like at GWL?

Now in our 88th year, our camp is located on beautiful Glen Wild Lake in Bloomingdale NJ. The camp is open to residents of GWL and the surrounding areas. We offer an authentic and affordable summer day camp experience which is completely unplugged. Our swim team, the Glen Wild Gators, is part of the NJ Small Lakes League and competes in 7 swim meets each summer. Campers participate in fun activities in and out of the water each day, primarily organized by our staff but allowing for some “free play” time as well. We keep enrollment to a reasonable number to ensure each camper gets the attention he/she needs. Each week has a different theme (visit gwlswimcamp.com to take a peek at last year’s calendar). We end our season with a trip to Dorney Park and an awards night celebrating our campers. We also have a teen program for those entering 8th grade and up.
