A family of six living on a small farm in Steele County, MN, we have been raising beef for the last 20 years. This has meant supplying the local market with 1/4 and 1/2 on a consistent basis. We started a cow-calf operation with Angus cows about 12 years ago and really enjoyed calving in the spring. In 2012 we sold our Angus cows and purchased our first Lowline cattle to improve on the amount of b

eef produced per acre. The entire family quickly fell in love with docile nature of the Lowline breed and started showing the cattle. Ever since it has been a fun family pastime as well as a value-add to our livestock business. We provide Fullblood Lowline Cattle for show, breeding stock or freezer beef. The efficiency of Lowline Cattle makes them ideal for raising all-natural, grass-fed beef on small acreage. Wanting some feedback...

Thinking that a good herdsman will elevate the excitement and activity back into the Ranch. Obviously Six K Ranch has been a family centered operation and we all very much love being involved, but it can become second seat to any one of us when life gets busy. I believe we have good cattle, decent facilities, nice equipment and access to plenty of feed. I would love to have someone get involved in the business plan and run with it. I am very familiar with managing employees in my businesses...but have not had first hand experience in taking a farm operation to that level. Just looking for thoughts, advice, or offers! Thank you

I will be selling 10 cows from 3 to 8 years old for price of ground beef. We weaned calves from them in September and did not put a bull with them. Nothing wrong with the cows just they have not produced calves that fit our breeding program so we are culling them. If someone is interested in them at $9000 for group of (10) they can use them however they wish but will not come with registration papers. Thank you
