WE’RE HIRING!!

We are looking for the right person to fit with our team. Full time, veterinary assistant, would work 4 days a week plus some Saturday mornings.

We are a mixed animal veterinary practice with 3 veterinarians. We have a fast-paced office setting with a lot of client traffic and phone calls. At our busier times, this job can feel overwhelming or high stress. We see dogs and cats at the office daily, but our veterinary assistant must also be open to helping with other species, including (but not limited to) cattle, horses, goats, sheep and rabbits. The right candidate will be willing and able to clean up the messes that these animals can make, including vomit, urine, f***s, abscess material and blood. Job duties include, but are not limited to, holding animals for exam, surgery prep, assisting with euthanasia, cleaning, filing, answering client questions (in person and on the phone), filling prescriptions, checking patients in and out, scheduling appointments, stocking shelves, etc.

The Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship has confirmed a case of Theileriosis, caused by Theileria orientalis Ikeda, in a herd of cattle in southeast Iowa for the first time.

The week Oscar went missing, Henry Ford Spooky Cat Houdin, Aka Henry,(the black cat) came to us via Nancy's engine. Nancy found him under the hood of her truck after a farm call, and he came to hang at the clinic.

A couple weeks later, Biscuit (Black and white cat) came running from the pasture, meowing. Ashlyn picked him up, and he started purring so loud and making biscuits immediately. He's a biscuit making machine. He was posted and no one claimed him.

They became best friends and we all fell in love with them in their time at the clinic before they found new homes. We just just couldn't let them go, they were already home.

So if you haven't met them already met them, we would like to introduce you to Henry and Biscuit. 💗

Even though it's been SUPER cold out, we just found this guy on a dog this morning. Iowa is a year long flea and tick state these days!
