Our sale horses don't just look good in the arena; they're out here doing the work. Here they are on a trail ride with a group of camp kids who had never been on a horse before.

Our horses go through extensive training and are ridden regularly by beginners of all ages. Safe, patient, and dependable are the qualities we emphasize, and we ensure every horse is ready for real-life situations, not just the show ring.

Question for my fellow horse barn owners and horse people in Western New York…

With these hot summer days we’ve been having, are many of you switching to night turnout and keeping your horses in during the hottest part of the day?

I’m genuinely curious what everyone else is doing. I’m always trying to learn and make the best decisions for the horses here at The Un-Stables Ranch. I don’t claim to have all the answers—I’m just a horse-loving lady who wants to do what’s best for these amazing animals.

Are you sticking with your normal turnout schedule, doing night turnout, bringing them in during the afternoon heat, or something different? I’d love to hear what has worked well for you and why.

Some people find their passion early. Some of us are late bloomers.

At 42, I finally found mine—somewhere between a horse named Atlas, a quiet trail, and a whole lot of fear I almost let stop me.

This was our first trail ride alone. Was I nervous? Absolutely. But I’ve learned that courage isn’t the absence of fear—it’s saddling up anyway.

If there’s something calling your heart, don’t wait until you feel ready. You might be waiting forever.
