Regency Ranch Golden Retrievers

Regency Ranch Golden Retrievers We love and care for our dogs. They are members of our family and are raised with our children. We take great pride in the puppies we produce. Why Choose Us?

We focus on health, conformation, temperament, and personality. All of our puppies come with a health guarantee. About Us

Regency Ranch breeds high quality, AKC registered, and well socialized Golden Retrievers. In 2024, we added Mini poodles and doodles to our family. We are located in the Texas Hill Country, smack dab in the middle of San Marcos, San Antonio, and Austin. We happily serve the ar

eas of Bulverde, Spring Branch, San Antonio, Austin, Georgetown, New Braunfels, Kerrville, Corpus Christi, Waco, Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, El Paso and everywhere else in the Great State of Texas. We do have puppies that live outside the state of Texas, but those owners still have to travel to us to pick up their babies. Our puppies are born and raised indoors. They are not put into little cages or made to walk on wire. Honestly, doing this would hurt my heart. Our babies are handled from the first day they are born. They are provided with blankets, comfort, and cleanliness from day one. They are socialized with other animals and children. Before our babies leave our house, they already know how to use a doggie door. If you take one of our babies into your home, you are immediately considered part of the family and we are always available to you. All of our puppies are guaranteed and come with our support and friendship for the life of the puppy (and hopefully after). It is absolutely critical that you find a breeder that:
you are comfortable with
raises their puppies with care and commitment
cares more about their puppies and dogs then they do “the sale”
cares for their adult dogs and their puppies with love and
attention
begins socialization of the puppy from birth
does thorough health testing
publishes pedigrees and details on every breeding dam and sire
offers meaningful puppy guarantees
offers life-time support
has time and experience behind them
does not cut corners when it comes to care of their puppies and
dogs
focuses on the puppies they are blessed with. There are many breeders that do not do any or many of these and some are experts at covering up their true nature. Sadly, not everyone can be trusted. Do your research and ask questions before choosing the right breeder for you. We have spent years making sure we can fulfill every one of the aspects mentioned above. Breeding dogs is a true commitment. It takes hours of blood, sweat, and tears (literally). Anyone who has bred and does not think this was not doing it “right.” We have been raising pups for over twenty years, and we still love meeting every new soul we are blessed with. Each of these darling babies is a gift and they deserve to be treated as such. In our years of breeding, we have learned many lessons. Although no one can actually “know it all” when it comes to animals, we have been taught multiple lessons and we are grateful for them. Each lesson has made us better owners and breeders. We encourage anyone who may be interested in our puppies to read though our entire website (www.regencypups.com). We have taken hours (and years) to create this site, always adding and adjusting information as new studies are published and new lessons are learned. Even though it is not likely, if you cannot find the information you are looking for, feel free to email us at any time. If you have all the information you need, but you just want to chat, we are completely open to that too! Check our website and page often! We update them both consistently.

All of the puppies in this litter have families. The babies are now 1 week old and all are growing really well! The pups eyes are starting to open. Momma Chakka is doing an amazing job for a first time momma. We are very proud of her. I will be updating our waiting list this week. I have to say that the last six months have been something! Two pups coming back, false pregnancy, waiting for my maiden girls to come into heat and pray the allow breeding, a new male that really wants to do his job, but is a little confused, and now what I am making this post about. I have faith that all of this has gone as the good Lord has planned, but I really need Him to throw me a bone so I can stop stressing. Enough about me feeling sorry for myself, because I truly am blessed.
I am sure many of you know that we have one to three litters out of our girls and then they are retired. The deciding factors as to the number of litters is based on age, if the girl likes being a momma, and how well she does with pregnancy and raising pups. Since this is what we do, we always have some younger girls that we are raising up.
I am making this post because the three girls we are raising got their Penn Hips done. Some may wonder why I do this when the parents of each girl has hips that were good enough for breeding. It is because I am super weird when it comes to making sure that I do not breed dogs that do not have really good hips. Even if parents have good hips, there is a 15 to 25 percent chance that the pups hips will not be as great as the parents. I have a personal rule that my dogs have to have hips that test within certain parameters or I will not breed them.
When results came back, Cashmere's hips were 2 points outside of those parameters. My vet said she is fine, her hips dont look bad, but I think it is a slippery slope. If I budge on the parameters then there is a chance her babies are further outside the parameters. There is a chance her babies have better hips than her, but I do not feel comfortable rolling the dice. This is what the testing is for. Now, let me be clear, she IS NOT dysplastic. The luxation in one of her hips is "looser" than I require. Will she ever have dysplasia, I doubt it! However, adding the weight of puppies and the strain of birth could possibly cause more luxation and that is not something I am willing to do to her.
So, that is why I am posting this. I am going to retire her before she starts. She was 1 year on April 15th.
Cashmere is a sweet girl, but she is truly going through her teenage stage. She needs a home where she has someone to keep an eye on her so she does not get into mischief. She needs someone who wants to take her with them whenever they can. She is a needy Nelly and she cannot be locked away from family. She is not a dog you can crate and walk away. She has never been crated. As with the other adoptions, I am looking for the absolute best home for her. If you put in an application and I do not call you, it is not because I feel you would not be a good home. It is only because you may not be the best home for her.
If you think you want to welcome this beautiful, crazy, needy girl into your family, please fill out the application below. Thank you!
