*Update- Mara had to be helped to the Bridge this morning. DIP precious Mara 💔*

Luna (female, 3 years old) and Mara (female, 8 years old) are searching for their forever home together. Mara especially deserves a soft, loving place to enjoy her senior years. Because Luna is still young and active, we would prefer a home with other ferrets so she’ll always have companionship. Both girls are affectionate, playful, and would make wonderful additions to a loving family. If you are interested in adopting these two lovely girls, you can submit an adoption application through our web page.

Salem, Matilda and Maye are looking for a very special home. Her mom has this to say about them:

"Salem is approx 5-6 years old. She had a brother that I sadly lost to adrenal disease. She is a wonderful ferret. She gives kisses and she is extremely playful.

Matilda is the one who broke her leg. She is approx 4-5. I'm not sure how she did but she got surgery on May 14th. She is still currently recovering. She is a sweetheart. She is my rambunctious ferret so she is stubborn and we have had lots of incidents with her taking her cast off. I love her. She carries so much personality.+

Maye is around 4-5 years approx. She is my little biter but only cause she likes to play. She is a bit awkward and tense. It's pretty funny how you will pick her up and she spreads her legs. She does have a deformed ear that needs to be kept clean.

They are all wonderful ferrets. I genuinely love them so much. They are my babies which is why I'd be willing to make a drive to make sure they are taken to a place where they will be loved and taken care of."

This was an extremely difficult decision for their owner to make, but she feels it is in their best interests to rehome them. They will only be adopted out together.

If you are interested in adopting this trio you can fill out an application on our web page.

DIP sweet Littles. We had to help Littles gain her wings this morning. Most likely abdominal hemangiosarcoma. We did run some diagnostics but cytology wouldn't have come back from the lab until next week. I hate making these decisions, but it was the kindest thing to do seeing the blood accumulating in her abdomen and causing her respiratory issues. Give your sweet sister Mimzi a hug and kiss from all of us and give Lorri extra hugs! I'll miss you my precious girl 💔 🌈

Eli's Ark is seeking a Treasurer and Secretary. If you'd like a volunteer opportunity to help the rescue out, message us. We prefer you be located in the Oklahoma City area, but willing to discuss that if you have the motivation and experience!

*Adopted ❤️*

Welcome to the Ark, Arthur! This precious boy is 1 and a half years old and is looking for his forever home. Arthur was surrendered because his family wanted him to have more time and attention than what they could provide. He is the sweetest boy! If you are interested in adopting Arthur you can email us at [email protected] to request an adoption application.

I just don't get why people are surrendering ferrets to Animal Welfare kill shelters or to local pet stores who turn around to sell them for a big profit, without proper, knowledgable vet care prior to selling. I know I said we are closed to surrenders because we are over capacity, but I also said to still contact us because we may be able to help. We habe many resources! The last month we have facilitated rehoming 3 ferrets even though we do not have space to take them in personally. We were still able to help! We will help as much as we can. Don't surrender your ferrets to a pet store that separates them due to ignorance. There's two in a local pet store (not big box) right now and the pet store separated them because "the girl is hogging all the food and the male is losing weight." I guarantee that is not the issue unless they are not properly feeding them. And then they want to turn around and sell these supposed two year old ferrets, one which probably has health issues, for 350 each. I'm heartsick we can't help them all. The best we can do sometimes is try to help you avoid resorting to giving them to the kill shelter or pet stores. I'm sick over those two babies sitting in the local shop.

Pic of Noel, Pancake and Possum just as a cheerful end to this rant. They are permanent Ark residents and not for adoption.

As 2025 draws to a close, it's hard to believe I founded Eli's Ark in January. Our rescue has been blessed with many supporters and we appreciate each and everyone of you. With your help, we have accomplished so much in 2025!

Ferret intakes: 50!
Of these precious ferrets, 27 were adopted, 2 remain in temporary foster with us, 11 became permanent residents at the Ark, 1 was reunited with his owner after being found wandering outside, 6 are potentially adoptable to the perfect home, and 3, sadly, gained their wings. I've also had so many other losses due to old age and common ferret diseases. Amongst these were several personal ferrets and rescues I took in under Nyota's rescue. DIP Xuri, Obi, Clyde, Yue, Bean, Finn, Dexter Morgan, Bandit, Huck, Wiggles, Bobo and Mimzi. Forever in my heart ❤️

Our Board members/Officers have lost numerous ferrets this year, as well.
Rescue is hard and it's heartbreaking, but it's also rewarding knowing we've provided the best possible lives for these precious little ones.

If anyone would like to make a last minute donation for 2025, remember your donations are tax deductible and go to help our ferrets be the healthiest and happiest they can be and to save more in need.

Happy New Year from all of us at Eli's Ark! We appreciate each and every one of you!
