I've waited all week to see these cuties! We had Maggie and Max in today, a high energy Border Collie duo. They both got a good scrub up in the bath and Ms. Maggie got a tight neaten up all over. They both may have gotten no less than 27 pets and 10 hugs a piece because I LOVE this breed.

What a wonderful couple of days to end the week.

Ms. Bailey was in for a deshed bath, and wowweee she is beautiful! We had a wonderful time scrubbing her up and sending her home freshly washed and brushed.

Zephyr got a fun new trim, with two bracelets, tassel ears, and candle stick tail. He is such a good boy, patient and cooperative for his whole groom.

Sunshine is a SWEETHEART! A literal ray of sunshine. She was in for a quick refresh, and was so wonderful for her groom. We went a little shorter on her legs, muzzle, and tail making sure to blend those areas in to the length on her body. She turned out cute as a button.

What a perfect gentleman! Rocko was in for a full de-shed and spa day. We removed a ton of hair and gave this sweet boy lots of pets and hugs. He did amazing, patiently allowing me to remove a lot of hair build up in his pants area and laying down to rest while we dried his fur. I love German Shepards, they remind me of my own sweet girl that we recently lost due to health and old age. They are a extremely loyal and protective pup. Hope to see you again Rocko! 🐶🥰

Nails!

Keeping nails short is no easy task. Long nails can do actual harm to the structure of your pet's foot, increase ache and arthritis issues in elderly pups. Let us come help you trim and file those nails down with our Pawdicure service!

The Pawdicure is a nail trim and file, ear cleaning, and moisturizer for their paws and nose. If you have a pet with very long nails getting them filed every two weeks can stop the vein growth and help to reverse that length eventually shortening the nails to a normal length. Brushing is a very important part of caring for your pet. It can also be challenging and difficult to do. Every single pet needs to be brushed, regardless of their coat type. Some pets need brushing more often than others do. The goal will always be to keep your pet from matting, which occurs most often from undercoat build up. Preventing that matting is key to preventing further damage to your pets coat.

If you find that you need an extra hand now and then for brushing your best friend, Howliday Pet Spa offers a 30-minute brush out service for $20.

Another great maintenance option is the Face, Feet, and Sanitary trim service. Your pet will get a bath, nails trimmed and filed, ears cleaned, and hair trimmed up on their feet, face and sanitary areas to give an even all over look. This excellent maintenance trim can help you keep your pet tangle free and smelling great! 😍🐶

Zebedee spent his rainy Tuesday with me in the van. We did a Face, Feet, and Sanitary trim on him while spending extra time working on his courage and confidence while grooming. This little sweetie showed so much progress in his tolerance of the loud noises and vibrations that come from clippers and the nail file. I was so proud of how he did today, and he got lots of extra hugs because of it!

It can be tempting to groom your pup less if they have a hard time at the groomer, but I would always encourage you to schedule an in-between maintenance groom instead. More repetitions with your groomer will allow your pet to learn the routine and desensitize themselves to the whole process. That is exactly what Zeb is experiencing with us at the Howliday Pet Spa, and we are seeing the fruits of our labor with his greater patience and cooperation on the table.
