FAQ and Welcome Note

Welcome to my page! I started this as a way to share some of the toys I make for my birds with people who inquired about purchasing those types of toys from me. To thank everyone for their support, I will be offering special sales/discounts for 'like' milestones (100, 500, 1000, 5000, 10000, etc). Please help spread the word so everyone can enjoy!
**FAQ**
1) Custom and personalized orders
I do accept requests for custom or personalized toys. Please be aware that custom orders typically take longer to make and not all requests can be accommodated. Typical customization options include a single 1 inch alpha block or several 3/16 inch white plastic alpha beads.
2) Materials
All of my materials are bird safe - meaning none are toxic. Please exercise caution just as with any toy. Damaged or used up toys or toy parts can pose a danger to our fids. Please regularly inspect all toys and perches to ensure your bird's safety.
3) Gift wrapping and packaging
Gift wrapping is available. Please be advised additional shipping charges may apply to accommodate larger packaging.
4) Replacement Parts
I have some replacement parts for sale such as quick links and string/rope. Please contact me to make a request.
5) Sizing details
Many of my items will include a "recommended for [size] birds". This is how I rate my sizes.
Small Birds - Cockatiel and smaller
Medium Birds - Quaker to Ecclectus
Large Birds - African Gray to Cockatoo
Extra Large Birds - Macaw and larger
6) Shipping/Local Pick-up
In many cases I will be able to combine shipping and will issue a refund if actual shipping costs are less than the automatically calculated amount you paid. In rare cases I will need to charge additional shipping if the estimated packaging does not accommodate the quantity of items ordered or the overall size of the combination of different items ordered. I will communicate any discrepancies before filling the order and not hold you liable for any costs if you decide to cancel your order before it is shipped. All US orders are shipped via USPS Priority. Expedited shipping available upon request however expedited product completion may not be. All of my orders are taken online thru my Etsy site and are shipped. I currently do not have arrangements for local pick-up.
7) Pricing
I was having difficulty figuring out pricing for my toys. Adding up the exact actual cost of everything was far too tedious and would make for some crazy costs. So I decided on a "per ounce" cost. Nearly all of my complete toys are priced by the ounce. I weigh the completed toy and multiply by my per ounce price (with a minimum of $5). This pricing method makes calculating easy and consistent and provides good prices for my customers with enough wiggle room for me to cover my actual costs and fees and make a small profit. For the really heavy toys (over 1 pound), toy parts, and foot toys I charge based on actual cost.
8) Returns and Cancellations
I accept cancellations before item has shipped. I don't accept returns or exchanges because I can't guarantee the safety of any products (for resale or personal use) once they leave my possession. I will work with you if your item(s) arrive damaged due to packaging deficiency. Please contact me if you have any problems with your order.
