Meet Sushi 🍣

This sweet boy is getting his second chance… but we need help to make it count.

Meet Sushi — just 6 months old, incredibly friendly, and despite everything, still reaching out for love. After his neuter, he will be coming into our rescue so we can get him the care he desperately needs.

💔 What’s going on:
Sushi has distichiasis in both eyes — abnormal eyelashes growing into his eyes, causing constant pain, irritation, and damage to the surface of the eye.

This isn’t minor… and it’s not something that can be ignored. He is living with ongoing discomfort every single day.

⚠️ Without treatment, the only option left is eye removal just to stop the pain.

💵 We are trying to SAVE his eyes.
Estimated cost: $1,000+
The shelter is providing a $200 gift card, but we still need to cover the rest. Ways to donated linked below 👇

Okay. We’ve tried the sweet angle.
We’ve tried the sob story.
We’ve put this man in costumes for every major and minor holiday on the calendar.

And yet… Pip remains.

Let’s talk about it.

Pip has been here since he was a literal baby. He survived parvo. He survived major bowel reconstructive surgery. He survived losing his sister. This dog has been through more character development than a season of Grey’s Anatomy and somehow STILL cannot secure a couch of his own.

He is dog social. He has good house manners. He is a teenage goofball with Olympic-level zoomies and the emotional depth of a rom-com lead. He is, objectively, a VERY good boy.

But here’s the brutally honest part.

Pip is healthy. Thriving, even. However… his life-saving surgery left him with a little ✨party trick✨. Occasionally, when he barks or gets excited, a tiny “bonus pellet” may make a surprise appearance. Yes. Like a living Pez dispenser. No, he is not broken. Yes, we are serious.

He is potty trained. He tries his absolute best. But sometimes his body just says, “Encore!” and releases a single rogue souvenir.

If you’re looking for perfection? Keep scrolling.
If you’re looking for resilience, joy, chaos, comedy, and a dog who has fought WAY too hard to still be homeless? Pip is your guy.

Honestly, if you want a human baby you can’t claim on your taxes, Pip is ready to apply. He’s dramatic. He’s clingy. He will absolutely make you laugh daily. And occasionally, he will keep you humble.

At this point we’re not asking for a perfect adopter. We’re asking for Pip’s person. The one who sees a medically quirky, wildly loving, slightly leaky teenage icon and says, “Yeah. That’s my dude.” Because after everything he’s survived… the only thing this dog should still be fighting for is the best spot on your couch. 🐾
