STRAWBERRIES have been planted!

I’ve missed everyone at the farmers markets lately, and I’m sorry. BUT, it’s because I’ve been working on new, fun, fresh stuff!

A few new hydroponic systems. Mature arugula, strawberries, and lettuce growing happily indoors!

After he was done with work today, I got a visit from this guy!

If you've driven downtown, you've most likely seen Daniel wearing the hi-vis vest, with a trash picker and plastic bag.

He's yet another one of the people who makes downtown a great place to visit - picking up trash and cigarette butts to keep downtown clean and gorgeous.

He's always got someone with Aptiv with him to give him a hand.

Super friendly guy, big smile - make sure you say hi and let him know how nice it is to have him here making our town great.

This is Bonnie. She's an inspiration. 87 years old and picks up trash on our sidewalks every day!

There are a lot of people I'm going to expose on here, gradually, to help people understand that downtown is making an excellent and winning comeback.

The Chief Officer Of W**d Wacking beside her finished his work today, but if you see anywhere he missed dont' be afraid to tell him.

Make sure to say hi and thank you to Bonnie! She's awesome.

(ladies, watch your fella around her though...she told me I'm lucky I'm married this morning - so she might be a homewrecker ;) )

When I moved to BRF, I fell in love with city immediately. I remember asking my wife after just two days here (before we even moved in) “Is it too early to know I love this place?”

Tyson’s post finally helped me realize exactly why I feel this way. It’s because of the people.

Sure, we have some problems, especially downtown. But that just gives us a chance to show how much we care about community.

It takes real courage to build/rebuild something. And this city is filled with talented, courageous people. Here are just some of the amazing things happening downtown BRF.

BRF Arcade LLC: Making downtown a family-friendly, communal gathering place. It’s an arcade with a community twist. Come play games and meet new friends.

Little Vinnys, Black River Cigar, & Black River Tattoo: Showing us how beautiful these old buildings can be. If you haven’t been inside these places, check them out—you won’t be disappointed.

First Fruits Common Market: Providing amazing gourmet popcorn and other fantastic local goodies.

Riverside Nutrition: Making it easy to eat healthy.

Revolution BRF: The place to learn what’s what in BRF. Come get some great coffee, fantastic food (microgreens optional) and discover the heartbeat of the city.

The Lunchbox on Main: Breakfast and more now right on Main Street. Start your day off right with breakfast, keep it going with lunch, and enjoy the company of two of the friendliest people you’ll ever meet.

Sunnyside Cafe: Coming soon, another courageous entrepreneur (Lisa) starting what I’m sure will be a beautiful new business!

There are dozens more awesome thing happening downtown. Like Tyson rightly notes, you can help build back downtown!! Just come check it out. Poke your nose in. Ask some questions. I bet you’ll find something interesting.
