🐾 BARN CAT HOMES – APPLICATION NOW OPEN 🐾

We’ve had some wonderful interest in helping provide barn homes for our Rocky Gap cats, thank you! To help us keep everything organized and make sure we place cats safely, we are asking that anyone who is still interested fill out our barn cat home application.
This helps us match cats to the right homes and ensures they get the care and acclimation they need.

Thank you for helping us give these cats a safe, warm, and loving place to call home! 💛

🚨 WE NEED BARN HOMES! 🚨

Update* 6 currently have placement. I am working through messages and comments.

We’ve been trapping cats at Rocky Gap Resort in Cumberland, MD, and we’re facing a tough situation. The resort wants the cats removed, but relocating feral and semi-feral cats is only safe when we have proper barn homes. And right now, we don’t have any available. They are allowing us to fix these cats and return them after we explained the situation, but there isn't proper shelter.

We even offered to purchase nice, warm outdoor houses to place in the woods that would be out of site to visitors and to officially adopt and care for this entire colony, but it doesn’t sound like we’re going to be allowed to do that. Most of these cats are only 4–6 months old, and they’ve never had to survive a winter in the woods. We truly don’t know what they’re going to do once the temperatures drop.

These cats are currently sleeping near dumpsters or deep in the woods under a fallen pine tree, and with winter coming (and foxes already getting the kittens), we urgently want to find them a safer future.

We’re looking for barns, farms, warehouses, breweries or safe outdoor homes that can take in a few cats and know how to give them proper acclimation so that they stay and don't run off.

All cats will come:
🐾 Spayed/Neutered
🐾 Ear-tipped
🐾 Rabies vaccinated
🐾 Dewormed
🐾 Given flea prevention

There are about 25-30 cats total. We are actively TNR’ing them, but we want to give them the safest chance possible.

👉 If you or someone you know can offer a barn home or even has a lead, please reach out! Your help could truly save their lives.

Thank you for sharing and spreading the word. 💛

Missing Cat: Bear Hill Road in Grantsville. Please share!

Two nights ago, we lost one of our TNR kitties from a colony in Cumberland. We checked the trap the morning after we trapped him to bring him to his neuter appointment and he wasn’t there. I’ve checked the garage so many times but I’m confident he found his way out. I did see a tabby with white on it this morning near the end of our driveway, which may have been him but there’s a lot of strays on our road. If anyone sees this cat, please let me know. He is not fixed or friendly but may approach for food. He should be easy for me to trap again if I can find out where he went. We’ve had a trap set 24/7 at home and no luck.
