🚨 Personal Protection Contracts Are OPEN Again!

Personal Protection Dogs are a serious commitment—not just for the dog, but for the Owner(s) as well.

In Wisconsin, a professionally trained Personal Protection Dog MAY be viewed as a dangerous weapon within the court system, making responsible ownership, proper training, and a thorough understanding of the law absolutely essential!

These are NOT short-term or inexpensive training programs. They require significant time, dedication, and a commitment to maintaining your dog’s training for years to come.

The good news? A properly trained Personal Protection Dog can be both a trusted family companion and a reliable working dog when the situation demands it.

Before being considered into my program, clients must provide:
✔️ Proof of home ownership (house deed)
✔️ Homeowners insurance policy information
✔️ Willingness to learn and comply with all applicable state and local laws
✔️ A commitment to ongoing training and responsible handling

⚠️ There is a non-refundable pre-requisite test before any contract signing ⚠️
If you purchased your puppy from a reputable and documented working line, this may be waived.

Personal Protection training is far more than teaching a dog to bite on command. It’s about control, stability, obedience, sound judgment, and creating a dog that is safe, reliable, and capable of protecting its family when truly necessary.

If you’re interested in learning whether this program is the right fit for you and your potential dog, send me a message to discuss the application process 🤘🏼

First session went great! Stay tuned for her (and the pet parents) progress 🙌🏼

A huge THANK YOU to Lynn & Joe for sending me this wonderful review video! ❤️

It was an absolute pleasure getting to know all three of you—Lynn, Joe, and of course, Rummi!
Watching your dedication, consistency, and commitment to the training has been incredibly rewarding. Your hard work is exactly why Rummi has made such amazing progress.
This is proof that any dog, any age, and any breed (mixed breeds included!) has the ability to learn and succeed when they have owners who are willing to put in the time, stay consistent, and embrace positive change.

Thank you both for trusting me with Rummi and for allowing me to be part of your journey. I’m so proud of everything you’ve accomplished together! ❤️🐾

🎓 Graduation Day for Rummi! 🎓

Rummi has officially graduated training, mostly Behavior Modification work! 🙌🏼

When we started, Rummi was a runner with little to no recall, which meant she always needed to be on a leash or tie-out when outside. She would jump on any guest and was so excited, she lost her hearing 😂
Her owners, Lynn and Joe, wanted her to have the freedom to be a dog while still being safe, responsive, and reliable.

The biggest key to Rummi’s success? Her owners. Lynn and Joe have been absolutely OUTSTANDING at following directions, staying consistent, and putting in the work between training sessions. Their dedication has made all the difference.

We are so proud of the progress Rummi has made and excited for the next chapter of her journey!

✨ This is a great example of how (1) consistent training and (2) committed owners - can completely change their dog’s quality of life ✨

🎥 Review and progress video coming soon — stay tuned! 🙌🏼🐾

‼️ PSA FOR DOG OWNERS ‼️

The 4th of July is coming up fast, and NOW is the time to prepare!

✅ Make sure your dog’s microchip information is current.
✅ Make sure they have updated tags and proper identification.
✅ If your dog is a flight risk, ALWAYS secure them with a slip lead when taking them outside.

And most importantly…

💥 THIS WEEK is the time to call your veterinarian if your dog struggles with fireworks and may need sedatives.

❌ Not the Friday before the holiday — they may be closed.
❌ Not two days before the weekend — celebrations often start as soon as July begins.

Give your veterinary team plenty of notice. There are dozens of pet owners trying to get medications for anxious dogs this time of year, and planning ahead helps everyone.

Coming from the veterinary medicine (and dog trainer) world, we all appreciate a good heads up 🙌🏼

Let’s keep our dogs safe, secure, and as stress-free as possible this holiday season! 🇺🇸🐾

Phenomenal write up for a protection breed 🙌🏼

Phenomenal write up for a protection breed 🙌🏼

Athena is officially ready to go on to adopt-A-Pet.

Here is what we knew about Athena and what would make her the most successful.

Athena (aka Tina) Is Ready for Her Forever Home!

I know so many people have been waiting for this unbelievably gorgeous girl to become available, and the time has finally come.

Over the past several months, we've focused on giving Athena the best possible start. She has had her cherry eye surgery, been spayed, and has been given the time she needed to heal before beginning professional training.

Athena came to us at nearly a year old with limited socialization. While she knew some basic training, she had never learned many of the manners and social skills that puppies typically develop. Since arriving in rescue, she has made wonderful progress, but she will need a family committed to continuing her journey.

Athena is truly a wonderful dog. She adores people, loves attention, and has absolutely no idea how big she is. She's a strong, powerful girl with a larger-than-life personality—and she is 100% Athena.

She recently had her first session with a trainer and will continue training as she transitions into her forever home.

What Athena Needs

Cane Corsos are incredibly intelligent dogs. They thrive with structure, consistency, and leadership. If given an inch, they often take a mile, so clear boundaries and routine are essential.

Athena is eager to please, but without consistency she will happily make her own decisions. Continued training and socialization are critical for her long-term success.

Because of her size and enthusiasm, we recommend children ages 8 and older. She means well, but excitement can sometimes override her awareness of her surroundings. Think of her as a loving freight train who occasionally forgets to hit the brakes.

A securely fenced yard is required. Athena is still working on her recall and should not be off-leash outside of a safely enclosed area.

We're not convinced that a home with very small dogs would be the best fit. It's not due to aggression—Athena simply doesn't always realize what's beneath her feet.

As for cats, we honestly cannot say. She once proudly delivered a baby bunny to her foster mom completely unharmed, which was surprising to everyone involved. However, that doesn't necessarily predict how she would behave when unsupervised, so caution is advised.

If a snake or frog ever finds its way into your house, Athena will alert you with enthusiastic barking—but don't expect her to save the day. She's not entirely convinced she understands what those creatures even are.

Dog Socialization

Athena is still learning appropriate dog-to-dog greetings. Because she missed out on early socialization, she tends to approach other dogs with a lot of enthusiasm and a very direct, in-your-face style that can make some dogs uncomfortable.

This is something that will need continued work and guidance.

It's important to remember that despite her size, Athena is still very much a puppy. People often forget how young she is because she looks so mature, but she is still learning about the world just like any other adolescent dog.

Training Requirement

Athena's adoption will require continued training.

She will have a remaining training session available to help her transition into her new home and establish a routine that sets her up for success. Continuing her training is not optional.

We are fortunate to work with a wonderful trainer who already knows Athena and can help her new family understand the tools, structure, and expectations that will help her thrive.

The Perfect Home for Athena

Athena would do best with:

- A securely fenced yard
- Previous large-breed or guardian-breed experience
- No young children
- Commitment and financial ability to continue training
- Consistent leadership and structure
- Plenty of exercise and room to run
- Lots of couch space for snuggles

Athena is the kind of dog that turns heads everywhere she goes. She is majestic, stunning, and impossible to ignore.

But as beautiful as she is, we ask that potential adopters look beyond her appearance and truly consider her needs. Athena deserves a family willing to invest in her training, guidance, and continued growth.

For the right family, Athena will be an incredibly loyal, loving, and rewarding companion.

We are so excited to see what the future holds for this brilliant young lady, and we cannot wait to find the forever home she deserves.

As summer starts rolling in, I’ve been getting more and more calls and messages about red spots or bumps on dogs’ stomachs — so I wanted to share some helpful information for everyone! ☀️🐾

In many cases, these are simply fly bites that dogs get from laying in the grass. They can look alarming, but they usually do not bother the dog at all. Most of the time, they heal quickly on their own and do not require treatment.

For dogs with sensitive skin, the irritation can occasionally turn into a pyoderma (skin infection), so it’s always good to keep an eye on it. The good news is these flies are typically only around for a few weeks during the summer and then disappear.

Hopefully this helps ease some worries if you’ve noticed these spots on your pup recently! ❤️

Happy Memorial Day Weekend from the dogs to YOU! 🇺🇸❤️

We hope everyone has a safe, fun, and relaxing long weekend with family, friends, and plenty of sunshine ☀️🐾

While you’re enjoying the extra time off, let’s also remember the true meaning behind Memorial Day — honoring and remembering the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

Thank you to all who have served and those we will never forget ❤️

Rummi started her training journey today! ✨

She is the sweetest girl with a heart full of love… and sometimes a little too much excitement for others (and her owners 😅).

Because of past trauma, walks haven’t been her favorite thing, and recall has been something she likes to ignore. But that’s all about to change!

Over the next 4 in-home sessions, every other week, we’ll be working on:

✅ Eye contact
✅ Basic obedience refresher
✅ Leave it
✅ Recall
✅ Stay
✅ Wait
✅ Leash walking

I’m excited to help Rummi build confidence, manners, and a stronger bond with her family. Stay tuned for before & after videos — this girl is going to make big progress! 🙌🏼🐾
