Let’s talk about veterinary receptionists — the steady heartbeat of our hospital. 💜
This week we are celebrating NATIONAL VETERINARY RECEPTIONIST WEEK! At DOMAH, we are lucky to have three phenomenal individuals at the front lines: our front desk supervisor Sonja, our steady and compassionate Haley, and our newest bright addition, Mikayla. Each of them brings dedication, patience, and heart to a job that is often underestimated — but absolutely essential.
Veterinary receptionists are the first voices you hear on the phone when your pet is sick, injured, or in need of care. They’re the friendly faces who greet you when you walk through the door, often managing a ringing phone, checking in a patient, and comforting a worried client all at once — and somehow still remembering your dog’s name. 📋✨
They manage scheduling puzzles that change by the hour, field emotionally charged phone calls, explain costs, juggle urgent requests, track down records, and keep everything flowing when the clinic is at its busiest. They’re also often the ones to deliver hard news with compassion or support pet parents through the hard times — all without much time before they are needed next.
🌟Sonja, 🌟Haley, and 🌟Mikayla — thank you for the empathy you show every family, for the way you advocate for our patients, for the grace you bring to stressful situations, and for being the steady heartbeats of our practice. Your work is complex, deeply human, and so very important to us as a team.
If you’ve ever loved a pet, chances are a veterinary receptionist helped care for them in ways you didn’t even realize. Please join us in thanking these beautiful souls for all they do.
Today, and every day, we are grateful for you!
