One of our volunteers was trying to do the right thing in helping people who came to Petco looking for help with kittens they stole away from their mama. Yes, stole. Let’s not sugarcoat it. And instead of trying to reunite them or letting us trap mama so they can continue to nurse, they go silent by phone. So now there’s a distraught mama cat out there somewhere and kittens who need a mama. A mama cat who will just keep having babies instead of being spayed. These kittens will be taken care of by the same voluneer who brought us Colbie then she’ll transfer to me once they start eating wet food since I already have so much on my plate and don’t have time to bottle feed on the days I work… I’ve got 35 dogs to take care of on my lunch break now 🥴❤️

Situations like this are hard for people in rescue. We get unnecessarily burdened with healthy bottle babies that could have stayed with their mama for a few more weeks and a mama that will remain unfixed.

Please think before you act and don’t do anything unless you have a plan in place. Do not ignore the advice from the experts. We know what’s best.

My angel baby Sinny ❤️

Sinny came to the rescue from Tuscaloosa Metro after I saw him posted and knew his place was with me at the rescue. He can’t walk at all and usually stays in a comfy and safe spot in a cat tree during the day. I was nervous taking him on at first but now I can’t imagine him not in my life.

Puppy mill survivors Beth and Allie are being spayed today! Beth is the most nervous out of all of the dogs and hates to be touched… It’s so heartbreaking. Both ladies are 5 years old and are getting the greatest gift we can give them… No more breeding!

Donations are needed to cover their surgeries today 🙏🏼💕
