Welcome to the OFFICIAL page for Project PAW! Project PAW (Protectors of Animal Welfare) is a non-profit, no-kill cat shelter in Binghamton, NY.

Project PAW is currently home to over 150 cats and kittens rescued in or around the Binghamton area. Some of these cats were saved by good samaritans; others experienced cruelty at the hands of previous owners. No matter how they came to us, it is our mission to ensure that these cats receive nothing but the best care for the rest of their (nine) lives.

While each of them holds a special place in our hearts, we hope to be able to find permanent homes for a number of our residents. We are looking for compassionate individuals and families that will provide safe, loving homes for our feline friends.

Additionally, the work that comes in caring for our cats comes at no small feat (or cost), and we have a number of opportunities available for those looking to volunteer. Volunteer work typically includes sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and, of course, loving on our animals.

If you are interested in adopting or joining us as a volunteer, please visit us during our business hours (Monday to Saturday, 9:30-11:30AM) or contact us at (607)-288-2011.

Please note that this page will be managed primarily by Binghamton University student organization Paws and Effect. Paws and Effect is dedicated to reducing the labor and financial burden of local animal shelters, and visits Project PAW with a group of student volunteers every Saturday morning. We look forward to growing this page, and spreading the word about this amazing organization!
