I’m overwhelmed with gratitude for the incredible number of women who applied to be part of this empowering project. The stories, strength, and beauty you shared were nothing short of inspiring—and choosing just one participant for each category was an unbelievably difficult decision.

Applications are now closed and the lineup is set. I can’t wait to introduce these remarkable women to you as we begin creating portraits that celebrate their unique beauty, resilience, and spirit.

🌟 CASTING CALL: Unconventional Beauty 2025 🌟

I’m bringing back one of my most meaningful projects—Unconventional Beauty—a portrait series celebrating the strength, stories, and stunning diversity of Coast women who redefine what beauty looks like.

This year, I’m looking for incredible women in the following categories:
💫 Woman in a wheelchair
💫 Woman amputee
💫 woman with Natural grey hair (embracing aging)
💫 woman with Tooth gap / unique smile
💫 Woman with visible scarring or burn marks
💫 Woman with albinism
💫 Woman with ostomy bag (shown with dignity and strength)
💫 Woman wearing hijab, turban, or traditional cultural attire

These sessions will take place in my studio located within The Sanctuary - Biloxi in a safe, empowering, and supportive environment. Select Coast participants will receive a complimentary portrait session and may be featured in the final Unconventional Beauty 2025 exhibit.

✨ Flashback Friday to this explosive moment of grace and power.

I had the absolute pleasure of photographing this incredible ballet dancer mid-flight, surrounded by a cloud of vivid smoke in the Florida heat. The athleticism. The artistry. The drama.

Captured using my Canon USA 5D Mark IV with a 70-200mm f/2.8 lens, this shot still gives me chills. Every time I look at it, I’m reminded why I do what I do — to freeze power, emotion, and confidence in a single frame.

As a proud member of Professional Photographers of America and Professional Photographers of Louisiana I’m constantly inspired by the creative possibilities photography brings — especially when I get to combine movement, light, and a little smoke bomb magic. 💥

When walked into my studio for business headshots, I had no idea how much that one session would change my life.

I’m 51, and for most of my adult life, I never had savings. No stocks. No retirement. No plan. Just survival. But meeting Shawn gave me the confidence and clarity to finally take control of my financial future. 💼💰

Since working with Shawn, I’ve opened a retirement account for my husband and me, started building a money market fund for a down payment on our forever home, secured life insurance for my husband, and even have emergency cash set aside—something I’ve never had before.

And the wildest part? I bought two acres of land. That was just a dream a year ago.

Hi, I’m Dawn Victoria Gilmore — the creative force behind Dawn V Gilmore VIP Photo. I’m a full-time empowerment photographer with over 16 years of experience lighting, posing, and celebrating the female form. My specialty? Creating show-stopping images that help women and businesses stand out with confidence and authenticity.

I’m more than just a photographer—I’m a woman who has rebuilt, redefined, and reclaimed her power. After my VSG surgery in 2022, I’ve lost over 120 pounds, not just transforming my body, but my mindset too. I now dedicate my work to helping other women feel seen in their own skin—no matter their size, shape, or story.

My studio located within The Sanctuary - Biloxi is a safe, inclusive space where every woman is invited to feel empowered, luxurious, and unapologetically herself.

✨ 16 years behind the camera… and this might be one of my favorite images I’ve ever created.

The moment I saw that spiral staircase at the Airbnb in Greenwood, Delaware, I knew I had to get Ms. S in my signature green robe. The lines, the texture, the confidence — everything just clicked. 💚

Captured on my 5D Mark IV + 50mm f/1.4, this image is proof that when vision meets intention, magic happens.

Golden hour in the cornfields 🌽✨

I’ve known Nikki for 10 years now, and every time I get her in front of my camera, it feels like magic. This session was shot as the sun began to dip—lighting up the sky and the field behind this beautiful Delaware Airbnb where I’m staying for a few days to photograph clients.

There’s something so peaceful and grounding about shooting in a space like this—surrounded by nature, laughter, and people I’ve built long-standing connections with. 💛

We’ve been keeping a little secret…

Today we closed on nearly 2 acres of land in Lumberton, and we’re so excited.

In all my life, I’ve never truly felt like I was home—we’ve been renting for years, always searching. But something about Mississippi just feels right. Now, we’re making it official.

Skip and I dreamed of rural land that was ours—peaceful, enduring. The moment we stepped onto this property, we felt it was meant to be. And naming it Gilmore Farm ties us back to Skip’s grandparents’ farm in Girard, PA—a way to honor them and carry on their spirit here.

Our plan is to put our forever home on it in 2–3 years: a place to grow old, retire, and spend the rest of our days surrounded by nature—with Reese and Kylee (and hopefully some day some grandbabies) by our side, loving every moment.

This is just the beginning… what a beautiful way to start. 🏡🌲
