I treated myself to sending Rico off for a month to get a solid tune up and get some rope work done. I’m extremely pleased with how he’s come along in even just a week. “He’s really smart and willing, just not super athletic” 😂😂 hard being a big b***d 16h donkey some days, but new exposure and a good schedule is what he needs right now!

Walk trot lope under saddle, has 60 days as a 3 yo, saddled up with us after the winter off with no buck or vices. She will paw standing tied. She’s had the rope swung and thrown off her no problem.
Really wants to please will be a very nice arena prospect or all day big circle horse

Walk trot lope under saddle, had miles outside and knows arena riding, quick and caddy will be a great cowhorse prospect. Prefers to long trot, will lope but need to ask her to move out more. Extremely comfy gaits.
She has moved cows, been to play days, knows how to ride in the arena and out.
Not in your pocket, work horse attitude, stands quiet to groom and saddle, cinch up tight and walked right off.

Walk trot lope under saddle, works gates, has rope handling skills, has drug a tire. Trailers quiet. Had a few greener riders on him and he tolerated them nicely. He’s moved cows in rough terrain, never missing a step, went up and down rock slopes with ease, and navigates the sagebrush like it’s nothing. He is ready for you to give him a job.

Rico is a SAINT. It’s been SO long since I had an English saddle and especially since I tired jumping in one 😂 not posting video to save my dignity but this horse is just amazing in everything 🥰👏🏻

All the horses got a float today!
Rico got 2 baby inscisors pulled that were hanging on for dear life, and removed some points, but got a “he has very nice teeth!”
Banker got the start to some waves so we took care of them.
And Angel needed a lot of help on her molars so we got her squared away! (I somehow forgot to get a pic of her in the fancy headgear!)
Spring cleaning is happening!

What a handsome boy packing a saddle 🤩 no squirleyness, no hump, no buck, just a solid citizen 👏🏻 clearly he retains well for a horse that’s had a good amount of time off, can’t be unhappy for that!
