***We will be shutting down comments on this post at this time. We will be taking applications through the weekend for Elsa. Please come in and fill out an application and schedule a meet and greet with your dogs. We will be making a decision next week to get Elsa into a home that suits her. Thanks everyone for your interest.***

Meet Elsa, a 5 year-old red longhaired miniature dachshund that came to the shelter after her owner passed away. Elsa is spayed and up-to- date on her vaccines. Elsa is an indoor dog who enjoys sleeping on dog beds along with sleeping in her owners bed. Elsa likes to play ball and enjoys toys and snacks. She is used to other dogs and is very affectionate. She received a fresh hair cut but will need to be professionally groomed. If you are interested in Elsa and have other dogs, you must bring them in for a meet & greet with her. We were delighted by a surprise visit from the Meyers family, who adopted Kota, a resilient red & white male husky with a history of hardship. Kota's life has taken a turn for the better, filled with truck rides with his dad, and receiving all the love & affection from his whole family, who have provided him with a remarkable loving home! He is one happy boy,🐶 We were glad he still remembered us with his tail wags & kisses.🐾😘

Once again, here is Mocha, 2.5 year-old boxer-terrier mix still available for adoption. Mocha makes an ideal pet for those who just want to spend time with their dog. Mocha has a strong affection for people and takes pleasure in going for walks and snuggling. She enjoys pets and belly rubs. Her training includes mastery of basic commands like sit, shake, fetch, and stay. She delights in playtime with her sister Keshia , also up for adoption here at the shelter. 🎊🎊Adopted 12/27/25🎊🎊 Congratulations Colleen, Keshia, and Mocha.🐾 🐾 Keshia is still available for adoption, She is a 2.5-year-old Boxer-Terrier mix, highly affectionate individual who exhibits a strong desire for human interaction, particularly snuggling & belly rubs. Keshia engages well with people she meets and plays well with her sibling Mocha, who is also here at the shelter. She understands fundamental obedience commands, including shake, sit, lay down, and coming. Keshia's desire for Christmas and the upcoming New Year is to find her human pet and home she can call her own. Today was a heartwarming day at the shelter as we welcomed back our dear former adoptee, Sammie! It’s hard to believe that a year has passed since she found her forever home. To commemorate this special milestone, her loving parents, Adam and Mandie, brought her in for a visit.

Sammie, with her signature sweet disposition, was eager to see familiar faces, and her tail wagged with excitement the moment she entered the shelter. Not only did she bring her adorable personality, but she also came bearing gifts—treats and toys for everyone! It was such a thoughtful gesture.

We can’t express enough gratitude to Adam, Mandie, and, of course, Sammie for sharing this delightful occasion with us. It’s moments like these that remind us why we do what we do. Seeing Sammie's happiness and how well she has adjusted to her new life fills our hearts with joy. Thank you once again for making this "Gotcha Day" anniversary so memorable. We look forward to more visits and updates on Sammie's adventures in the future!

Congratulations, Colleen, Keshia & Mocha.🐾🐾 These two are sisters and have been residing at the shelter since Oct 2,2025. Boxer/ Mix bred around 50 # , These two lovely girls are in need of a fur-ever home. They enjoy human interaction and exhibit great listening skills. They appreciate leisurely walks in suitable weather and will happily snuggle with you for pets and kisses. Currently, they are the only residents at the shelter, having the other animal being adopted to new homes. Now, they are eagerly awaiting their turn. We would love to celebrate their adoption and a home for the holidays. You won't be sorry adopting them they are great girls.
