Happy Pawther's Day to our doggie (and a handful of kitty) daddies!
Especially the ones who didn't originally want the dog.
You know who you are.
The one who got the phone call from your partner or kids at one of our adoption events, begging and pleading for a change of heart.
The one who received a barrage of text photos until it was easier to give in and begrudgingly accept the new member of your family.
The one who was minding his own business and a furry little being slowly worked its way into your home and heart.
And now you're grilling a piece of plain steak at the cookout, reserving a spot on the couch during the playoffs for your good luck charm, and testing the pavement before your daily walks to make sure it's not too hot for sensitive paws.
To all the dads whose lives and living center around your furry kids as much as any other member of your family (or sometimes, even more) - today is for you.
Thank you - for the expensive special diet food, the 3 AM emergency vet runs, the rain or shine walks, the snowstorm potty breaks, the skipped vacations, the empty bank accounts, and the hearts full of love. So much love.
