We are a nonprofit 501c3 northern breed dog rescue. We work in eastern PA, parts of MD and southern NJ. We are a 501c3 non-profit organization.

The dogs we take in are fostered in the homes of our volunteers until they are adopted to approved applicants. HTHNBR is a non-profit organization as recognized by the Internal Revenue Service pursuant to Section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code.

🐶 Big day for Rola! 💕
Rola got to meet her foster sister’s babies (fostered through another rescue) over the weekend, and she did so well! She was gentle, curious, and full of love the whole time. It’s safe to say all she really wants is your attention (and maybe a few extra cuddles 🥰).

Watching her interact so sweetly just melts the heart ❤️

Times are tough. Shelters are full. Dogs are euthanized daily. Can you help by becoming a foster? All animals in the home must be spayed or neutered and up to date and on heartworm preventative. The rewards are endless. The rescue pays for medical costs. Check out our social media

🐾 Meet Enzo – Our Handsome Senior Husky Looking for Love! 🐾

At 11 years old, Enzo is a blue-eyed, red-and-white Siberian Husky with plenty of pep left in his step! Don’t let his age fool you — he still enjoys walks, playtime, and showing off his good manners and commands.

Enzo is a polite, well-behaved gentleman who loves being around his people. He’s great with other dogs, reportedly fine with cats, and good with older kids who understand how to be gentle.

Like many Huskies, he can get a little anxious when left alone and may need some patience (and a crate refresher) to feel secure. He also finds vet visits stressful, but once muzzled, he’s calm and cooperative.

🌲🐾 Ashraya Update! 🐾🌲

This gorgeous Elkhound girl had a big weekend — camping and cheering at a softball tournament! She loved meeting everyone and is amazing with people. 💕

Ashraya is still learning some skills — she’s not the best car rider yet (she likes to pace during long drives) and she’s still mastering her name. But she’s making great progress with leash walking and already knows “sit.” She’s also learning “no” and “down.”

At home, Ashraya has great manners — she’s out of the crate full time but will go in when asked. She’s sweet, smart, and eager to please.

If you’re looking for a friendly, loyal companion who’s up for adventure and loves being with her people, Ashraya could be your girl! 💫

🌸 Meet Josie! 🌸

🎶 “Josie’s on a vacation far away…” 🎶 — and by “vacation,” we mean she’s looking for a new foster or foster-to-adopt home to help her start her real life!

Josie is a beautiful female Pomsky who recently retired from breeding. She’s adjusting to the good life — soft beds, belly rubs, and love — but she needs a patient person to help her learn that the world is a safe place. 💕

Because of her background, Josie is a flight risk (she’s quick and clever!), so her future home will need to be extra careful with doors, fences, and walks.

Emmy is not currently in rescue. We are doing this courtesy post for the owner. If you think you would be the right fit please reach out and we will put you in touch with her owner. She is spayed and up to date on vaccines. Located in NY. Here is waht her owner has to say. Please no negative comments making the choice to rehome a beloved pet is hard enough.

Adorable Emmy (2 yrs, 50 lbs) needs a new home. She is a sweet, friendly half-Husky, half-Lab mix who loves people and LOVES other dogs of any size. Neither dominant nor submissive. Good with kids. Well trained on basic manners, but not a dog who can run freely off leash. Playful (especially loves tug-of-war and squeaky stuffies), but calm in the house. Activity level is moderate. Loves to be outside. Does not jump fences. Great in the car. Exceptionally good-natured, has an independent streak and can entertain herself when need be. Needs a good-sized fenced yard. A dog buddy would be *ideal* but not necessary. Fully house-trained and has no bad habits. Good around horses, calm while tethered in the barn. Some TV commercials make her sing.
