The Danbury Animal Welfare Society, Inc a non-profit, no-kill organization dedicated to improving the lives of animals in our community and beyond. We promote responsible pet guardianship and the humane treatment of animals, and work toward ending animal overpopulation through education and a variety of programs.

🐕 This adorable boy is Elvis 🐕 He is 10-months-old and about done growing at 35 lb. His spotted coat makes us think he has some pointer in him. Elvis was adopted from DAWS a couple months ago but has too much energy for the home. Elvis is being fostered until we can match him with a better fit home. Elvis is very friendly and sweet. He loves long walks, toys with squeakers and running outside. Elvis is housetrained and good with basic commands. He loves training! After using all his energy up, he loves to cuddle. Elvis would do well with an active family. He is ready for hikes and all kinds of outdoor adventures. Elvis is microchipped, vaccinated, neutered and healthy. His adoption fee is $400. 🐈 This handsome boy is Snowball 🐈 He is 9-months-old, has a soft shorthaired mostly white coat and weighs 11.8 lb. Snowball was brought in as a local stray but he is super sweet and loves affection. Snowball is a cat you can play with but also can relax with. He purrs all day and would make the perfect family cat. What a great companion Snowball is going to make for someone! Snowball is vaccinated, microchipped, neutered and healthy. His adoption fee is $175. 🐕 This adorable bully mix pup is Polly Pocket 🐕 She is 10-months-old and weighs 31 lb. She won't grow much bigger. She has a gorgeous deep grey coat and the cutest little ears! Polly is at a foster home, not at our shelter. Her foster says "Polly Pocket is a cheerful, affectionate puppy who gets along wonderfully with other dogs. She is confident, curious and adores belly rubs. This girl is also smart. She is housetrained and sleeps quietly through the night in her crate. Polly is a joy to be around!" Polly is such a sweetheart, we think she would be great with children. We don't know what she thinks of cats but can cat-test her if needed. Polly is microchipped, vaccinated, spayed and healthy. Can't adopt right now? That's ok! Did you know you can support DAWS by donating your car, boat, RV, motorcycle—even your jet ski or snowmobile? It’s easy! Just visit the CARS Vehicle Donation Program at careasy.org/nonprofit/daws or call toll-free at 855-500-7433. They’ll arrange a quick and convenient pickup, and you’ll receive a receipt from the towing agent. DAWS will send you a tax deduction letter within 6–8 weeks of your donation.
