Star D Performance Horses is now offering lessons for mid-level beginners to higher level intermediate riders.

The better half of the program, Rebecca Duncan, has 15 years of experience riding, training, and showing horses using The Method from Clinton Anderson and accumulated knowledge gleaned from riding under/ taking lessons from various other trainers. She currently shows working/reined cowhorse, but has experience in many other disciplines, including, but not limited to, Hunter Under Saddle and Barrels.
These lessons will be an opportunity to gain some knowledge from a woman who has risen from just a girl with a horse and a dream, teaching herself much of what she knows via videos and clinics.

We will be fully insured and able to travel to you within the greater St. Louis area. Additionally, we will be taking haul-in lessons at our small facility located just 25 minutes East of St. Louis City proper.

Here is the first saddling on one of our up and coming prospects, we've had her in training with us for around a month and have been able to take our time preparing her for this event. She hu**ed around a few jumps and then after that she wore the saddle for a couple hours like a broke horse. THIS is what we strive for in our c**t starting program.

🎊Happy New Year!!!🎊

2026 has arrived and with that we have our own list of goals.
First our goal that we started on yesterday was revamping our round pen to more safely start our c**ts. First step was tearing it down and leveling the ground. Next up will be putting it back up and putting boards vertically all the way around the inside. Also we are hoping sand is in the future aswell!
We have plans to start fencing in our outdoor arena and building some pens aswell.
We also have 14 possible horse shows on the schedule this year and the plan is to get to as many of those as possible. Don't be like King here and sit on your rear, get up and get doing, that's the only way you're going to achieve your goals!
