Proud of Vero this past weekend at his first recognized HT! He finished in the ribbons in the starter division at Texas Rose.

I don’t have footage of dressage but it was his most relaxed test to date. He started off XC feeling unsure but gained confidence as he went along and he finished strong. In SJ we were a little green and had two rails but he still landed in 5th place! Overall really happy with his bravery and try especially for how far he’s come.

Prince is always up to help me give a young horse a good off-property and trail experience. Gemma may tower over him but she is only 3, and this was a valuable trip for her!

We ponied down the trail with a group of well-behaved mustangs who could show her how to react to their environment and it did wonders for her confidence. Giving Gemma these good experiences early will help her one day when she transitions into her future career as a show horse.

Siouxsie having a jump school - she even got to play in the field over the cross country jumps! She is a blast because she is brave and very easily adjustable. This mare is going to make a very fun partner.

Looking for your future all-arounder or have aspirations for a specific discipline? Siouxsie is ready for the next person to bring her along. With her lovely movement, she will shine in any direction. She is a willing mare with a solid foundation put on by experienced trainers. She is with me on consignment to find her the perfect home.

Information:
⭐️ 6 year old mare
⭐️ BLM mustang from Salt Wells, Wyoming
⭐️ Measured a hair under 14.3hh
⭐️ UTD on shots, coggins, and dental

Siouxsie competed in the 2024 Wild to Mild TIP Challenge and has remained with her trainer ever since. She rides english and western, she is soft in the bridle and has correct body control and good brakes. She has jumped a few fences under saddle and was brave and careful with her feet. Sidepasses, backs up, turns on shoulders & haunches, leg yields. She loves obstacles and is brave going over them; she is still new to some of the things shown in the videos (dragging, picking up and carrying flags), but was very willing and with some more practice will be quite confident.

Her groundwork skills are solid: she trailer loads, stands for the farrier and the vet, and stands tied. Stands to get tacked up and lunges all 3 gaits staying soft on the line and responding to voice cues. Good for grooming, fly spraying, baths.

Siouxsie would be suited for an experienced rider as she is green. She is still building confidence — can be tense or get startled with people in her space, and takes a bit to build trust with a new person. As such, Siouxsie does well having guidance from a confident leader, and consistency is her best friend.

📩 PM ME for additional videos and information if interested.

Rio is a mustang from my favorite herd, Twin Peaks 🏔️

He has been a fairly straightforward c**t start. At first he had an aversion to ropes on his backend and hind legs and would kick out, but quickly progressed to where he can ground drive and drag objects around with the rope going behind his hindquarters. He overcame a strong fear in a short time and he was simple to begin riding after that!

He’s moving right along, begun cantering under saddle and is going to ride out in the big arena next.

I love a good spicy red horse 🔥 Fuego is a Quarter Horse who came to me for training to assess and help him work through some difficult behavior on the ground and be started under saddle. He’s been on quite the journey ever since.

When he arrived he was very protective of his body, reluctant to be touched and would not allow his legs to be handled. He had to build a lot of trust in a similar way to the mustangs. He became one of the farrier’s easiest horses to trim, and when he trusted the chiropractor to work on him and check him out for physical issues, he really enjoyed the session. He was treated for ulcers and that made a huge difference for him.

The first time I placed a saddle pad on Fuego’s back his whole body quivered with fear, he could not trust any tack not to hurt him after a confidence knock he had before he came to me for training. It took a lot of consistency and thinking outside the box, teaching him how to release his own tension and experimenting with which tack he was most comfortable in. Last week Fuego just had his first arena ride and was able to walk, trot, and lope out there, nice and responsive, with perfect steering and brakes. He’s come a long way and it’s all thanks to his owner’s patience and willingness to do what’s best for him, even if it took a little more time.

Vero is always helping me practice my safety seat! He says “hang on tight, this thing might eat me so I’m gonna give it some extra air”

Had family in town this week and they helped me a lot with the obstacle course, including fixing up these cross country jumps and painting them to look brand new! I’m very excited with the new additions to the course. Huge shoutout to and her husband Connor because they did most of it while I was getting the training horses worked. Camille also took a ton of great photos so I’ll be sharing a lot of those.

We were planning showing this weekend but it postponed, still we made the most of it schooling at home ☺️
