She’s not ready to retire yet as we get ready for work today.

Our History

Alyssa was given a seeing eye dog from Freedom Guide Dogs based out of New York at no cost. These dogs would normally cost thousands of dollars (upwards of $20,00 or so). We were provided 2 weeks of hometown training at absolutely no cost. Freedom Guide Dogs does this with every guide dog placed with each individual. Baking treats is our way to give a little back because without them, we never would have a seeing eye dog for her nor would any other blind person who is fortunate to receive one of their dogs.

My daughter Alyssa was born blind and has autism. Her dog is Xaverie. She is an absolute dog lover. What began as just making some homemade dog treats for a craft selling for $1.00 a bag slowly grew into making gift boxes for christmas. Christmas is our busiest time as we make gift boxes decorated and full of treats. We don’t have a set price on our gift boxes. We only take donations. Most people pay $10, some pay $5 some pay upwards of $20 a box. No amount is ever too much or too little. Just ask that you be reasonable. (Don’t order 5 boxes and give us $10 for all of them - this has happened). ALOT of time goes into making these treats. We do, however, also make $1.00 doggie bags for sampling. We have done a few craft fairs in between. I keep track and at the end of the year i write one check and pay it forward. In the 3 years we have been doing this, we gave back 100% of all funds to Freedom Guide Dogs for a total of $3014 plus an additional $750 to Vested Interest in K9s for a police K9 protective vest. With a little help from some friends who send gift cards to us, i provide all the supplies myself. This is something we enjoy doing and it allows Alyssa to work and be creative with her hands making treats. So if they look a little funny, remember she’s blind. Thank you for your interest in our page. We hope to be baking for you soon.
