🎆 New Year, New Routine — Setting Your Pet Up for a Great Start to 2025!

As we get ready to welcome a new year, it’s the perfect time to check in on your pet’s wellness routine. Small updates now can mean a healthier, happier year ahead:

• Review vaccine due dates and parasite prevention schedules.
• Refill medications so you’re not scrambling mid-winter.
• Refresh training basics like leash manners, “stay,” and polite greetings (especially after the holiday chaos!).
• Consider a January wellness visit for seniors or pets with chronic conditions.
• Switch things up with new training goals and plan.

Here’s to a fresh start, healthy habits, and a tail-wagging year ahead. Cheers to 2025 from all of us! 🐾✨

Preparing for a Christmas Puppy? Here’s What You Need to Know!

Holiday puppies are adorable, exciting, and full of love — but they also come with big responsibilities. Whether you're welcoming a new family member or know someone who is, here are a few essentials to make the transition smoother:

Puppy Must-Haves:
• Safe chew toys (trust us… they WILL chew).
• A properly sized crate for training and comfort.
• Baby gates or a designated puppy-proofed area.
• Puppy-safe treats and training rewards.
• A trainer lined up for once they are old enough for training.

What to Expect the First Week:
• Lots of naps — puppies sleep 18+ hours a day!
• Frequent potty breaks every 1–2 hours.
• A mix of excitement, exploration, and a little nervousness — all normal.

Vaccine + Wellness Timing:
• First vaccines typically start at 8 weeks.
• Boosters are needed every 3–4 weeks until fully protected.
• Early parasite prevention and routine exams help keep your puppy healthy from day one.

If you need help planning a puppy’s first visit or getting set up for success, we’re happy to guide you. New paws in the home always make this season a little more magical. ✨

Thanksgiving is almost here! And yes… all those smells, guests, and commotion can stress out your pets just like us.

Giving your furry friends a comfortable, familiar spot while keeping their routine is important. While you may want to include your pet in the festivities, be sure that they are comfortable with the type of environment and supervised at all times.

It is also important to skip sharing the turkey scraps. We know those pleading puppy eyes are hard to resist… but feeding pets holiday scraps can lead to pancreatitis as well as other GI issues, and that’s no fun for anyone. Instead of scraps, stick to their usual treats instead—they’ll still feel special!

Wishing everyone a happy, safe Thanksgiving from our pack to yours 🦃

🎁🎄 Home for the Howlidays 🎄🎁

The holidays are full of family, food, and… let’s be honest — a bit of chaos! Between guests, decorations, and tasty smells, it can be a lot for our pups to handle.

Now’s the perfect time to brush up on training so your dog can be the calm, confident family member you want them to be this season. Whether it’s greeting guests politely, staying relaxed with distractions, or just learning to settle during dinner — a little prep goes a long way!

Our training programs can help your pup be ready for all the holiday hustle (and look extra well-behaved in those family photos 😉).

Let’s make this holiday season enjoyable for everyone — and keep every dog involved in the fun!

❄️ Winter Invaders Alert! ❄️

Think fleas and ticks take the winter off? Nope—they’re just moving indoors to warm spots like carpets, bedding, and your pets’ favorite napping spots. Once they hitch a ride on your furry friends, the party’s on.

These tiny invaders aren’t just annoying—they can spread serious health problems:
- Lyme disease (ticks) – causes fever, joint pain, and fatigue with lasting effects
- Anemia or flea-bite allergies – heavy flea infestations have the potential to make pets weak from blood loss very quickly.
- Tapeworms (from fleas) – swallowing an infected flea can lead to worms in the intestines, leading to lots of GI concerns.
- Other infections – ticks can carry illnesses that affect blood and organs.

The fix? Year-round prevention and regular checks to keep your pets healthy and itch-free!

Happy Halloween from our pack to yours! 🎃👻

Costumes or not, our pups are on Halloween duty—supervising the candy and enjoying the spooky vibes.

Don't forget: Keep chocolate, candy, and anything toxic out of reach—Halloween treats are for humans, not hounds!

Have a safe and fun Halloween!

📚🐾 Continuing education, with a little help from Natty! 🐾📚
We recently had the privilege of assisting at the KVMA Veterinary Conference with POCUS (ultrasound) training. Natty, was our superstar “patient”—sitting perfectly still for hours while veterinarians practiced their skills. Calm, patient, and enjoying all the extra pets and treats.

We are so proud of Natty for being such a patient helper and grateful for opportunities to keep learning and sharing knowledge with colleagues. 💙

Puppy day out!
We had the sweetest time helping with hearing test for a litter of Beauceron puppies after their vaccines. These little ones were so brave—and of course, they soaked up extra cuddles along the way. 💕🐶

Big or small, young or old—we love being part of your pet’s journey every step of the way.

🎃👻 Happy Howl-oween (almost)! 👻🎃
Our dogs may look cute in costumes, but Halloween can be spooky for pets. The doorbell, costumes, and trick-or-treaters can trigger stress and anxiety. If your pup struggles, now’s the time to schedule an anxiety evaluation and medication appointment—before the big night creeps up.

⚠️ And don’t forget: Halloween candy is toxic for dogs (especially chocolate and xylitol). Keep the treats out of paw’s reach!

📅 Call us today to get your pet set up for a stress-free, safe Halloween.
