Update: Eve’s adoption fee has been covered!
This is Eve! She’s a ten year old GSD mix that has the unfortunate happen to her and her siblings. Her owner passed and they were surrendered to the Madison County Shelter. She has been there for awhile. We are looking for an adopter or rescue so that she can spend her golden years living the life she deserves. Not in a shelter. If you can’t adopt, foster please share. It costs you nothing but could save this sweet dog.

🐾 Attention Madison County pet owners! Did you know that an animal license isn't just a legal requirement, but also provides crucial benefits?

▪️ It serves as proof of ownership and helps reunite lost pets with their owners quickly.
▪️ Licenses cost $5.00 plus tax for spayed/neutered dogs and $15 for unaltered dogs.

🐶🏷️ Renewals begin July 1st each year. Apply online or visit the Madison County Animal Shelter in person.

Don’t let these beautiful faces spend another lonely weekend at the shelter. The kennels are too loud and stressful. They deserve commitment, comfort, snuggles, and an environment where they can grow and thrive.

Please stop by and give them some love-even if you can’t adopt at the moment- they are begging to see you. Bring your kids, your spouse, your coworker! Come by on lunch break! Anytime before 4 PM today! 🥹🫶🏼🐾

✨SPOTLIGHT✨

We’re going to highlight two special pups today. First up: Eve! 🐶
Calling all senior dog lovers!

Eve is a a medium sized mix breed. Mix of what? Who knows! Could be some kelpie, could be some lab, could be anything! Whatever she is, she’s 100% cute.

Eve is estimated to be about 10-years-old, she’s spayed, and we’re told she does well with other dogs so long as they’re calmer in demeanor. In typical old lady fashion, Eve prefers a low key environment. She enjoys her human companions and being near them so if you want a four legged shadow, here’s your girl!

If you think Eve would be a good fit for your home we encourage you to go pull her for a meet and greet and get to know her! The shelter is open for viewing Monday-Friday from noon to 4 pm!

Are you not in a position to adopt? That’s okay! You might be a perfect candidate for fostering! This is a 2-3 week commitment. All vetting and food is provided. You are only required to give the animal a safe, loving home temporarily until they are adopted or sent to rescue.

Dobby and Skye are siblings that spent most of their life in the Madison County Animal Shelter. They are almost 9 months old now. Check them out today after arriving at their foster home! They were pulled from the shelter by a rescue in Rhode Island, and needed a temporary foster until transport. They are thrilled to be in a cozy environment the next few weeks until they transport North to their furrever!

Although adoption saves lives, fostering does too. We NEED fosters. Rescues are desperate for help. This is the only way out of the shelter for many animals. If you are interested please message us! ❤️🐾🏡

Griff is looking for his furrever home! Unsure of his neuter status or temperament with other animals at this time but if you are interested in learning more about him please go INTO the shelter during operational hours (Monday through Friday from noon to 4) and pull him for a meet and greet! The shelter is located at 1386 Richmond Rd North in Berea KY.
Approved application is required to adopt so please bring ID if you go in to meet Griff and possibly add him to the family!
