The Betsie River Veterinary Clinic team would like to reach out to our valued clients and community during these unexpected events Mother Nature has placed before us.

At this time, we plan to remain open tomorrow during normal business hours to continue providing care for your beloved pets. Should the Benzie County Emergency Operations Center change our status and an evacuation be ordered, we will notify our clients as promptly as possible.

Your safety—and the safety of your pets—remains our highest priority.

🚨 READY STAGE ACTIVATED – HOMESTEAD DAM (BENZIE COUNTY) 🚨

An Emergency Action Plan (EAP) has been activated for the Homestead Dam along the Betsie River in Benzonia Township, Michigan due to dangerously high water levels.

⚠️ CURRENT STATUS: READY
• Conditions are elevated and being closely monitored
• No evacuation order yet, but the situation can escalate quickly
• Dam integrity is NOT confirmed compromised, but risk is increasing

📍 AREAS OF CONCERN
• All residents and property owners downstream along the Betsie River
• Low-lying and flood-prone areas in Benzie County

⚠️ WHAT YOU SHOULD DO NOW
• Prepare for possible evacuation (SET may come next)
• Review evacuation routes and identify where you will go
• Gather essentials: medications, documents, clothing, supplies
• Move valuables and equipment away from flood-prone areas
• Stay alert for official alerts from Benzie County Emergency Management

• Avoid the Homestead Dam area immediately

❄️Weather Closing Notice❄️ Monday, March 16 ❄️

Due to the extreme winter weather conditions expected, Betsie River Veterinary Clinic will be closed Monday, March 16 to ensure the safety of our team, clients, and community.

Our wonderful BRVC team voted together to prioritize safety, and we appreciate your understanding.

If your pet was scheduled for an exam Monday March 16th, one of our team members will be in contact with you at our earliest convivence to reschedule for a time that fits you and your pet's needs.

We will resume normal operations this week with the following schedule:

Tuesday: 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Wednesday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Closed Saturday & Sunday.

We understand this may cause inconvenience, but the safety of our staff and community will always come first.
