Nothing beats a fresh trim… and it’s the perfect time to give those hooves a little extra care! 🐴🖤

Applying pine tar after a trim can help:
• Seal in moisture while helping keep excess moisture out during wet weather.
• Support healthier, stronger hooves by protecting the hoof wall.
• Help reduce drying and cracking in hot, dry conditions.
• Create a protective barrier against mud, manure, and other environmental conditions that can soften the hoof.
• Keep your horse’s feet looking and feeling their best between farrier visits.

Remember, pine tar works best on a clean, dry hoof and is just one part of a good hoof care routine. Regular trims, proper nutrition, and a clean environment are still the foundation of healthy feet!

There’s a real blessing in getting to spend your life around horses.

They teach us patience when we need it, humility when we lose it, and perseverance when things don’t come easy.

They challenge us, frustrate us, and at the same time give us moments of peace and joy that are hard to find anywhere else.

Every ride, every lesson, every quiet minute in the barn is a reminder that this way of life is something special.

It’s easy to get caught up in the goals and the work, but don’t forget to appreciate the privilege of simply getting to do it.

For all they ask of us, horses give us so much more in return.

✨ Don’t forget to curry your horse’s face and legs! ✨

Most people focus on the body, but your horse’s face and legs deserve attention too—just be gentle and use a soft curry or grooming mitt that’s safe for sensitive areas.

Regular grooming helps:
• Remove dirt, dust, and loose hair.
• Stimulate blood circulation.
• Loosen dried mud and debris around the legs.
• Give you a chance to check for cuts, swelling, heat, or other injuries before they become bigger problems.
• Build trust and strengthen your bond with your horse.

A few extra minutes of grooming can make a big difference in your horse’s comfort and health. A clean horse is a happy horse! 🐴🩷

I know—I had my tennis shoes on. 😂 It was just a quick walk around so we could get a feel for each other, and I didn’t feel like taking my spurs off my boots just to switch shoes. Sometimes you just go with what works!
