Hi Aussie loving friends! Meet Holly.
Miss Holly’s elderly owner recently passed away and she is need of a new forever home. She is a Bindi/Cinna baby from 2021 and she is the absolute sweetest. I’ve spent the last couple of weeks getting to know her and trying to get a feel for what kind of lifestyle she might fit best into.
Here are the highlights:
-She will be 4 years old in November. She is spayed, heartworm negative, and up to date on her vaccines and flea/tick/and heartworm prevention. She is 27 pounds.
-She was a strictly outdoor dog and would do great outside however I think she would also love to be indoors and could be house broken easily. I’ve had her inside for extended periods of time and had no accidents except for if she gets excited or scared and dribbles.
-I have had her around dogs (large and small) cats, goats, and chickens with no issues at all. She had a penmate at her former home so she would probably be more comfortable if there was another dog as long as it’s not super pushy or dominating.
-She is timid at first but wants to be loved so bad. As long as you give her the time and space to warm up on her own I think she will love anyone and everyone. She is a little slower to warm up to men and children but she does eventually. I think she would be better off with older children who understand boundaries and will not push her. She was fine with my 7 year old son and 11 year old nephew who were both calm and quiet and gave her space.
-Her training is minimal. She does good on leash and once you’ve established a relationship she does well off leash as well. She rides in the car well.
She really really likes to jump and lick faces. I think a lot of it is nerves and needing to feel loved and safe and may decrease some once she’s settled in but it will definitely need work. She is a barker when she’s left alone, again I think it is nerves and anxiety and will hopefully resolve once she’s comfortable.
-She is a red tri. She looks ridiculous at the moment because she had a lot of mats and sun bleaching when I got her and rather than forcing her to endure hours and hours of brushing we opted to just shave her and start fresh. Her coat is growing back in nicely and her true colors are starting to show. Her head is still very sun bleached and it’s going to take some time for it to match her body. The pictures attached are what she looked like when I got her and then after I shaved her. I believe she will stay dark red as long as her grooming is kept up with.
-She is so sweet and has shown zero aggression since she’s been with us…and she has been through a lot. She just really needs someone to give her the love and safe environment to settle in and be able to be herself.
That was a lot of information but I can provide you with more specifics if you’re interested. Please message me here if you think you could give Holly her forever home. She has so much love to give and will make an amazing pet for someone!
*Hollys pen mate is also looking for a home. He was not one of our dogs and I don’t have the room or resources for another right now so I did not take him but I can get you in touch with the woman who has him if you’d like more info. What I do know is that he is a blue Merle unneutered male. I’m not sure his size but I was told her is smaller than Holly so I would guess around 20 pounds. The last image is of him.
