Dear Friends,
We hope our 2024 annual letter finds you well as we approach the end of another incredibly busy and successful year at Prevent Homeless Pets (PHP). We are excited to share with you that we expect to reach a milestone of spaying and neutering 5,000 cats and dogs by the end of this year, making a new total of 65,000 animals altered since we incorporated as a nonprofit organization in 2009!
This year's Stitch-in-Time fundraising campaign is currently underway, continuing through
February 14, 2025. Our goal this year again is $60,000 in donations, to be matched for a total of
$120,000. These funds will be used to support the continuation of our services to the community, including keeping our doors open to provide spay/neuter surgeries to community cats, stray animals, and pets of qualified low-income owners in the effort to prevent disease and the births of countless kittens and puppies that could be homeless.
If you would like to help, please visit our website to donate online to our PayPal account at www.preventhomelesspets.org, or send a check made out to Prevent Homeless Pets using the enclosed SAE. A check will go even further because no service fees are subtracted. If you would rather donate shares of stock, we are able to receive those donations as well (instructions are accessible on our website under Get Involved: Donate - Make a Gift of Stock).
If you have already donated, we greatly appreciate your contribution and thank youI PHP would also like to thank our dedicated veterinarian, Dr. Sheila Doyle, and our wonderful hard-working staff and volunteers, without whom we could not continue to do this vital work. If you would like to donate your time, another most valuable commodity, see our volunteer application under the Get Involved section of our website.
Special thanks to all the Trap-Neuter-Release (TNR) groups and individuals who regularly trap feral cats and bring them at an appointed time to the clinic for spaying/neutering. Your tireless efforts are immensely appreciated in helping us to control the feral/community cat population. In addition, PHP gratefully acknowledges the grant awards received this year from the Washington Federation of Animal Care and Control Agencies, Petco love, and the legends Casino.
All of us at Prevent Homeless Pets wish you and your pets a safe and wonderful holiday season!
