What a beautiful day to spend time playing at the dog park!! This is Loki and Freya. Their dad spent quite a bit of time cleaning up the park so that they could run and play without worry of stepping in something unpleasant!!

PLEASE, if you use the Waggin' Tails Dog Park, pick up after your dogs. There are tools and abundant bags available. Having this beautiful dog park is a privilege, and keeping it clean and safe is a must. PLEASE SHARE!!

It is more important than ever to clean up after your dogs--reports from the local vets say that Parvovirus has been prevalent this spring. Please do your part to help prevent it, and to keep the park clean!

From the advice from our local veterinarians, it is more important than ever to clean up after your dogs at the dog park. There has been an increase in Parvo cases this year, which can be deadly, especially in puppies.

The dog park is a privilege to use for the Benson and Swift County residents. Please do your part to keep it a clean and safe place for your dogs to run and play. PLEASE SHARE!

Here is the good news and the bad news... The good news is that Benson's beautiful Waggin' Tails Dog Park is clean and for now ready for spring. The bad news is that it took Humane Society of Swift County volunteers almost 3 hours to shovel up 30 gallons of dog p**p! This cannot continue. It is a privilege to have a beautiful place to bring your dogs to run and play. It takes so little effort to grab a bag (available at the entrance) and clean up after your dogs. PLEASE SHARE!!

It has been 8 years since the grand opening of Benson's "Waggin'Tails Dog Park!" Where does the time go? The park still looks great and is used by many! Pictured are the Humane Society of Swift County board members and volunteers who helped make this park happen.

The water has been turned off at the dog park until next spring. Drinking bowls will be available, but please plan on bringing a jug of water to keep your pooches hydrated.

HELP NEEDED: We sure could use a bit of help out at the dog park. Any time and effort given helps. Weeds in the water pools need to be pulled, as well as tall weeds along the fence lines. If you are out with your dog, please consider pulling a few. One or 2 volunteers cannot continue to do it all. Any groups needing to do volunteer projects, here is your opportunity.

Other small projects are replacing 2 or 3 trees that did not survive the flood, and general park clean-up.

The park is back open!! Every bit of the park is secure, thanks to the fence repair crew. We are truly grateful! We are all ready for the Humane Society of Swift County's Dog Spa Day this Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. We hope to see lots of dogs and their people!!
