Found this Iowa public land swamp monster for our freind Ryan last week.

Ryan had shot this buck knowing it was in the liver area and choose to let the buck lay over night and came to track around the 16 hour mark. He jumped the buck, then backed out and gave us a call.. I told him that I wanted to have a full 24 hours from the shot witch he agreed..

We started at the hit sight where daisy almost immediately picked up the trail and drove straight past last blood and right as I was about to tell Ryan that she was crushing it, I was able to spot the dead buck, up against some down fall turned facing us watching the back track.
The track was quick and painless. It was a really joy to get to spend time out in the woods with Ryan and his brother I hope we meet again!

Tracked this stud the other day for our freind Mason.

The hit was liver/stomach, Mason did call us right away and talked it over.. he did not take my advice of wanting 24 hours to go look for it, opting to follow the trail at 8 hours to see what he could find and unknowingly jumped the buck 80 yards from his last blood.

We came in the next morning and between high wind, the bump and me being a little to confident in her first line. ( high wind was blowing sent where we where looking) we had a vary confuing first part of this track with a lot of extra walking. But after a restart daisy quickly found a bed 80 yards from the last blood made a figure 8 and took me 100 yards up and over creek bank where we found him.

This track was another example of why wait times are so important.. we were vary fortunate that this one only went the 100 yards. Dead deer dont go away where!

But with that all being said congratulations on your and Daisy's biggest bucks! 186 5/8!!!

Congratulations to this south Carolina hunter!

The shot on this deer clipped both lungs and the liver and still managed to make it over 400 yards to his first and only bed.. first blood past the hit sight as at 100 yards and no more until the last 50 yards or so. It is incredible how resilient the critters are.

It is important for hunters right now to know that with the rut happening right now these bucks hormones (testosterone and adrenaline specificly) are elevated, witch can cause them to run farther and live longer then you might think.

Well its that time of year! We have been off social media but not out of the game! This spring and summer we attended an intensive handlers clinic as well as two tracking symposiums..lots of great training and improvements. And with Daisy turning 3 this year we really are in our best form yet.

We will be starting this season off in Kentucky on September 6th and staying in the McDaniels area and traveling from there. And will be back in Illinois in October.

We are willing to travel as far as time allows and makes sense, we'll track any size deer even does!

After a long string of chasing live deer and beating our self's up, we'er back on the board!
Mason Shirley called me Saturday afternoon and said that he had shot a buck and the hit was less then desirable. But after brief corresponds we concluded that we both thought it was a lethal hit and was in a great position for a recovery. We planned to meet the next morning. There was rain over night witch I know made Mason a little nervous but he showed great discipline in leaving the area alone and gave us a near untouched track to start on..

We started the track near 27 hour post shot and a little slow to line it out at first but over all we followed the trail and 150ish yards through thick brush and made a quick recovery!

Well slow start to the season, 2nd track of the year a referral from another tracker in the Midwest Deer Tracking & Recovery Alliance.

There was video of the shot, witch looked great but the hunter ended up jumping the deer after waiting what I felt was an appropriate amount of time to track. They tracked him 300ish yards in all before calling a tracker. I ended up coming out 12 hours post shot. I would have liked to have waited until the next day but the hunters were leaving to go out of state.(They also shot a doe that ran the same direction as the buck 30mins prior to the buck)
We started at the hit sight and made short work of getting to last blood. Which was at a pretty big private road through the woods, which slowed us down a little bit. But once finding and exit we went straight up a ridge about 100 yards that we honestly could have use climbing rope to get up. Found blood at the top and and tracked about 100 yards down the ridge before I believe we jumped him.
We found a fresh bed, daisy baying, and a fresh blood trail back down the ridge we just traversed. We follow the trail back down to the private road. I told the hunter that wasn't sure if we jumped him and that i didn't think we were tracking a deer that was dead yet. And they agreed. I said was gunna follow the trail across the road 50 more yards just make me feel better and I found him just under that, dead as could be!

Thanks for the trust guys it was a fun night!
And thanks Gary Blessing for sending them my way!

Hey guys it's Liebe!

You will probably be thankful to know Mom is helping me type this post. But I wanted to tell you guys some reminders when it comes to hunting and tracking a deer with a gun or a bow.

•"DEAD DEER DON'T RUN"
so if you are confident in the location of your hit, don't look too soon. Wait for the recommended times of that area. Hunters unknowingly push their deer from locations, oftentimes without realizing they have done so.

•"DOGS SEE WITH THEIR NOSE, PEOPLE SEE WITH THEIR EYES"
us dogs have eyes, but we see the world through our nose because it is a stronger sense than our sight is. So even if you don't see blood, it does not mean that we can't smell it and other things.

•"IF THE DEER DROPS ONCE IT IS HIT, SHOOT IT AGAIN!"
Nothing gives a hunter a false sense of security like seeing an animal drop from the hit. However it does not always mean it's a dead deer. Please shoot it again just to be safe. When you're hunting an animal, you cannot overkill it but only underkill it

•"DON'T RUSH YOUR SHOT, IT'S PROBABLY JUST YOU BEING ANXIOUS, NOT THE DEER"
This is why we hunt isn't it? Calm yourself down as best you can before the shot. You will probably have a better shot opportunity in doing so.

•"IF YOU ARE NOT SURE ABOUT THE HIT, CALL A TRACKER YOU TRUST TO GET THEIR OPINION OF IT"
Notice how I said a tracker? Your friends are in your corner for a reason. While they think the best for you, a tracker would be a great resource for an unbiased opinion for a hit that you're personally not positive about.

I wish continued luck to everyone this season!

Give Us A Call, If You Don't See Him Fall !!

Finally on the board!! Last evening, our hunter shot a doe and soon after this buck. Both deer were vary close in proximity when shot.. the doe was recovered quickly by the hunter then whent to look for the buck and they followed for about 50 or 60 yards before backing out. He wasn't sure where the hit was and wasn't 100% on what they were seeing on the track so he got ahold of me this morning and we made a plan to go take a look.

I started from the hit sight and daisy first wanted to go the direction of the doe. I reset her about 10 yards down from the hit sight in the direction the buck was seen running and she took to it..she ran about 100 yards down the creek crossing the other bank then a little further down she put her noise on him!

I suspect from the shot and evidence on the track and after, that the arrow cut an artery and was also in the guts. The deer passed in under 150 yards. Perfect play to not chase it early and bump it.

But anyways awesome deer and thanks for the call! We are now 1 for 1

This track was 22 hours post shot.
About 150 yards and took about 20 minutes
