Ready to be back at it this weekend!
DC western Saturday, then the Da Bomb in Williamston next weekend 💪🏼

Our boy has had a busy week with finishing up collections, a little slow work, & a visit from his favorite chiropractor!

Bring on the weekend jackpot 🤩

One of the things I’m most thankful for this breeding season is the group of mares heading his way.

When you’re breeding young stallions, there’s always a level of excitement about the future.

The foals we’ve seen so far have only made us more optimistic, and we’re incredibly grateful for the mare owners who believed in Eros early.

Every breeding season is a vote of confidence, and that isn’t something we take lightly.

We’re already looking forward to next year’s foal crop and seeing what these crosses produce.

To everyone who entrusted a mare to Eros this season—thank you.

We truly appreciate the opportunity and can’t wait to watch these babies hit the ground. 🤎

Futurity Horse Appreciation

The older I get, the more appreciation I have for a truly talented futurity horse.

Not because they’re fast.

Not because they win.

But because of how much goes into developing one correctly.

You spend years breeding for the chance to get one.

Years raising them.

Months putting the foundation on them.

And then you ask them to take everything they’ve learned and perform under pressure as young horses.

When you get one with talent, trainability, heart, and the desire to be good, it’s something you don’t take for granted.

Eros continues to remind me every day why we love raising them from the very beginning.

The speed is exciting.

The mind is what makes me most thankful.

And getting to enjoy the journey with one like him is pretty special. 🤎

What Makes a Stallion Valuable?

There are a lot of things people talk about when evaluating stallions.

Color.
Pedigree.
Hype.
Social media.

But when I think about the traits that actually matter long-term, I come back to the same few things every time:

Athletic ability.
Trainability.
Soundness.
Consistency.
Mind.

A horse can have all the talent in the world, but if he isn’t willing, honest, and capable of handling pressure, that talent only goes so far.

One of my favorite things about Eros is that his ability and his mind go hand in hand. He’s incredibly talented, but he’s also a horse that wants to work with you.

As we wrap up breeding season and continue building his competition career, that’s still the trait I appreciate most.

The talent gets your attention.
The mind is what keeps you coming back. 🤎

Futurity year is a roller coaster.

Some days you’re making adjustments.

Some days you’re collecting checks.

Some days you’re reminded that these young horses are still learning and developing every step of the way.

The goal has never been to have a perfect weekend every weekend.

The goal is to build a horse that’s better next month than he is today.

That’s what makes this year so exciting with Eros. Every run, every trip, and every experience is adding another piece to the puzzle.

He’s talented, he’s honest, and most importantly, he keeps getting better.

That’s all you can ask for from a young horse. 🤎

Eros added a little to his LTE this weekend and got better each day, we are so thankful for him!

We slowed things down just a touch so we could focus on getting his first barrel more dialed in, and he responded exactly the way we hoped.

He finished 15th out of 75 in the Futurity, and while it’s always fun to place well, I’m even happier with how he felt throughout the run. Sometimes progress isn’t about asking for more speed—it’s about taking the time to make things more correct.

That’s the balancing act with talented young horses. It’s easy to get caught up chasing the clock, but the goal is building something that lasts.

Eros continues to show us why we’re so excited about his future. He’s fast, honest, trainable, and keeps getting better every time we ask him a new question.

A very good day for a very good boy. 🤎

Not every horse leaves you excited for the future. Some leave you expecting it.

Eros is one of those horses.

Every time he walks into the arena, you can feel the talent. But what keeps me optimistic isn’t the speed—it’s how much room there still is to grow.

He’s only four, he’s balancing a breeding career and a performance career, and he’s already shown flashes of being something pretty special.

The exciting part isn’t what he’s done so far.

The exciting part is feeling like we’re only scratching the surface. 🤎

It’s slot race day for Eros. 🤎

The exciting part isn’t just getting to run today—it’s knowing what kind of horse we’re leading into the arena.

He’s shown us enough that we know he’s capable of doing something special. The talent is there, the speed is there, and most importantly, he keeps proving he has the mind to go with it.

Will today be the day everything comes together? Maybe. Maybe not. That’s horse racing.

But regardless of the outcome, we’re pretty thankful to have a horse that makes you genuinely excited every time you saddle him. Opportunities to compete on one this talented don’t come around every day, and we don’t take that for granted.

Now it’s time to let him go do what he loves. 🤎🍀
