The shelter is in need of the following items: dry kitten food, wet kitten food, bleach (any brand), and Lysol cleaning wipes. Donations can be left on the porch or shipped to 242 Ag St., Bennettsville, SC 29512. Thank you for all your continued support. Without the community, we couldn’t do what we do. ❤️🐾

along with are back with this amazing adoption event. The Humane Society of Marlboro County will be participating in this lifesaving event!! 🎉

Join us, and many other shelters and rescues across the state, for South Carolina’s biggest lifesaving adoption event of the year!

To celebrate, we will have $50.00 adoptions from June 23rd - June 29th for all animals ready to leave our facility! We will post pictures of the animals that will be available. Unfortunately, our surgery date isn’t until June 26th, so animals can’t be picked up until June 27th. Help us find forever homes for these precious dogs and cats.

UPDATE - she has been found and returned to her owners!!

Saw her this mornjng on Jack’s Island - shes last seen on the running trail towards the abandoned school. Please keep an eye out, we still have not caught her!!
This sweet baby ran out the front door when I took her into foster her overnight while her elderly mama went to the ER. She ran from tater House down Woodland Drive towards Route 385. Please share! Her name is Dora and she is wearing a collar, but no leash.

While making a life saving transport to deliver 32 dogs & puppies to some of our wonderful rescue partners, one of our transport vans nearly broke down coming home, and is now in the shop. Our other van is also still in the shop undergoing repairs.

With a transport scheduled later this month for 15 dogs and a cat, as well as a transport for 40 cats scheduled first of July, it is essential for us to get our vans repaired and running reliably to make these happen. Our shelter is always overflowing with a waitlist of animals needing our care so long that spots are filled before transports even reach their destination. These transports are the only way for us to save these precious lives and not euthanize for space.
