County came out today and said they are going to add additional units.🚨

🐾 Our Employees and Animals Deserve Better Conditions 🐾

The employees at the Humane Society work hard every single day to care for the animals. They clean kennels, feed, medicate, comfort, and love these animals—often putting the needs of the animals before their own.

But it is heartbreaking that they have to work under these conditions in a county-owned building.

Today at 5:30 PM, the temperature inside the shelter was 92°F. 🥵

Our staff should not have to endure extreme heat while doing physically demanding work. The animals shouldn’t have to either.

We are incredibly grateful for the employees who continue to show up every day and give their all despite these conditions. They deserve a safe and healthy workplace, and the animals in their care deserve a safe and comfortable environment.

This is a county-owned building. Our employees deserve better. Our animals deserve better. Our shelter needs better. ❤️🐾

If your pet needs to be spayed or neutered, now is a great time to get them on the schedule! Appointments are limited and tend to fill quickly, so we encourage you to book early.

Spaying and neutering not only helps keep pets happy and healthy, but also plays an important role in reducing pet overpopulation in our community.

Today, 36 lucky cats and kittens are on their way to one of our amazing northern rescue partners, where they will have the opportunity to find their furever homes. 🐱🚐❤️

None of this would be possible without our incredible rescue partners and all of YOU who donate and support our shelter. Your generosity literally helps save lives.

🚨 URGENT: HUMANE SOCIETY OF MARLBORO COUNTY 🚨

The Humane Society of Marlboro County is currently CLOSED TO INTAKE because we are at TRIPLE CAPACITY.

We are currently caring for 115 dogs and puppies in a building designed to house only 41. We are overwhelmed and desperately need help.

❤️ We urgently need:
🐾 Rescue partners
🐾 Adopters
🐾 Foster homes

Exceptions to our intake closure will be made for injured animals, abused or neglected animals, and bite cases.

All of our dogs are vaccinated, and some have already been spayed or neutered.

Sable is safe with our staff member Ashley and on the way back to the shelter!! She’s lost some weight and has a couple of wounds that will be checked out by our vet but she is happy and safe.
