National Heat Awareness Day is a good reminder that our pets can overheat quickly, especially as temperatures rise.
Watch for signs like heavy panting, drooling, weakness, confusion, vomiting, diarrhea, or gums that look blue or brick red.

Keep pets cool with fresh water, shade, and frequent breaks. Avoid hot pavement and midday heat when you can.

If your pet is showing signs of overheating, don’t wait. Move them to a cooler area and contact your veterinarian or the nearest emergency clinic right away.
