We are very happy with how these steaks turned out for a steer that we had to emergency harvest. He didn't make it to the age where we start our normal finishing program and was grass fed only at 15 months of age. The wagyu genes really showing through here with the marbling he had on pasture grass only.

Ranching is not always fun and games... We had to experience one of our young bulls pass away this morning from bloat/blockage of some sort. It's never easy watching animals go. 😔. Evan tried to release the gas by puncturing his stomach, but it was too late. RIP little dude.

Its snake season folks! Keep an eye on your animals. We cant always keep them out of trouble but if you pay attention, you can get them taken care of before it becomes life threatening. Some antibiotics and anti inflammatory shots and this guy will be just fine in a couple days. I bet this young feller wont be sniffing around anymore buzz worms in the future.
