What is house sitting?
We stay in someone’s home while they’re away, and in exchange, we care for their pets, water plants, and keep the place secure and tidy. It’s a win-win for both sides!
Do you get paid?
Most of the time, no—we don’t get paid. But we do get to stay for free, which means no rent, no no accommodation costs, and the financial freedom to travel more.
Where do you find house sits?
We use trusted websites like TrustedHousesitters, House Sitters America, and Nomador to find opportunities ( 👉 Link in bio!)
You create a profile, apply to sits, and build trust through reviews. We wrote a blog comparing our favorite websites. Check it out!
Do you need experience?
Pet care experience is recommended—but technically not required. Just remember this is a big responsibility, so you should devote time to learning how to be a safe & responsible sitter. We started by sitting for friends and family to build references. Once you’ve got a few sits under your belt, it gets easier to land more!
Is it safe?
Yes, as long as you do your homework! We video chat with homeowners beforehand, read reviews, and make sure it feels like a good fit on both sides.
