A statement from Dr. Jokers:
Hello all,
I will be unavailable for appointments on Monday 3/30 all day. The clinic will be open only from 8am-12pm Monday morning for any urgent medication pick ups. We will return to our normal hours on Tuesday, 3/31.
As many of you have heard, but several are still learning, we saw Dr. Probst move into a quiet retirement at the end of 2025. The change happened rather abruptly, and has been a bit of a whirlwind for us here at Belvidere Family Pet as we adapt to being a single-doctor practice after so many years of taking on a high volume of clientele.
Dr. Probst is doing well, and enjoying much needed time with his family. If you'd like to send any messages to him, we'd be happy to forward cards his way.
In the meantime, I have been working round the clock to step into the role of both ownership and solo veterinarian. I fully understand the frustration many of you have felt as the availability for appointments has significantly changed. We have been blessed to have a full schedule every day, but this also means limitations to how much more we can squeeze onto the schedule last-minute without overwhelming ourselves. I and my staff are thankful for the gracious understanding that we've met in needing to create these new scheduling protocols. We unfortunately remain unable to take on new clients for the time being as we work to prioritize established clients for these limited spaces available.
Until we find another veterinarian to join our team, there will be days when I will be absent either for business or reprieve. Thank you for your grace on these days to allow my mind and body to recuperate so I can continue to provide my best to you and all your beloved pets.
Thank you all for your support, words of kindness, and encouragement as I adapt to these changes too.
Most sincerely,
Dr. Jokers
