Tattoo lessons!!! Learning both clamp and pen!

What a Day!!!!! The kids did judging, showmanship, and breeding rabbits today & many wonderful successes were recognized!

Intermediate Showmanship: Levi is 5th and Abby 3rd!
Senior showmanship: Noah 3rd

Judging: senior - Noah got 2nd.
Junior - Levi got 4th and Abby got 1st! (Buckle for Abby!!)

Other breeds:
Sr buck: Noah 2nd place and reserve champion with mini satin

Sr Doe :5th place Abby with Florida White
1st place, Champion, AND GRAND CHAMPION - Noah with mini satin (Buckle!)

Mini Lop:
Sr doe - 2nd place and reserve champion Abby

Our county is a TOUGH county to win - we have some top youth breeders who dominate several breeds nationally - and participate in youth contests on the national stage, placing well.

So excited for each of them & commercial classes start tomorrow!

I’m so proud of Noah! 3 years ago, he set the goal of becoming a judge. He started taking his registrar exam as soon as he was eligible to test (he was 12 at the time) and didn’t pass. He took it 2 more times with the same results (calling his score perfectly as a 69 on one attempt). This morning we found out HE PASSED!!!!!! I’m so excited for him - and we can all use lessons in perseverance from him!

I didn’t pass my judge test, and although slightly disappointed, am not upset. I’ll try again in 6 months - with my retest buddies. I know more of what to expect from the test. And I’ll keep trying until I succeed!

I’m a little behind this year on putting out the trba traveling workshop wish list. This year is mainly snacks and prizes. We don’t charge youth to attend and it’s a 4-5 hr workshop that occurs 3 times this summer! (The first one is this Saturday in San Antonio!)

2 new mini satin litters this weekend! We now have 8 MS babies in the barn (sadly we lost the one we were syringe feeding last week)
We are thinking:
3 chocolate agouti
2 red
3 copper

Time will tell what they actually are!

I get so tired of people taking advantage of kids - especially new kids - when selling stock! They deserve better! Illness, DQs, poor conformation, and awful condition should not be marketed to anyone beyond a cull buyer. Do better. These kids are getting a bad taste before they can even get started!

I am the world’s worst photographer when it comes to posed rabbits. A small adjustment/improvement from the first photo, but still not quite right.
